C SECTION tomorrow......scared UPDATE

posted 8th Jul
I had a c section 19 months ago with my twins. The spinal didn't work and i was put under general anesthesia for the procedure. I woke up and every thing was over. Tomorrow I am having a repeat c section and I am scared to death to be awake for the procedure. I am afraid I will panic and ruin the precious birth of my daughter. I am in tears every time I think of getting the surgery. What can I expect being awake for this... I am hoping I am not gonna totally meltdown tomorrow.

THANKS!!
UPDATE....................The spinal didnt work again and i got knocked out. Praise the Lord.....i had a major panic attack before hand. All is well and i feel awesome and my baby is perfect.

I was awake during my c-section and I am soooooo happy that I was, it is scary, but if the spinal works anything like the one they gave me, you wont be able to feel anything but slight pressure.

Don't stress mama everything should be fine.
I was awake for mine. I remember feeling a little bit of pressure and then tugging and then the baby was crying.

I just had my second c-section 3 months ago. I had the spinal and honestly, I liked it better than the first one. I remember everything, the part I didn't like was waiting to be stitched back up, but that is because I am an impatient person. I got to bf right after I got stitched up, got to hold my son for a minute right after they wrapped him in a blanket. The worst part about anything in the hospital was the MIL and ONE nurse who just didn't listen when I said he isn't leaving my room. I shut her up quick.

Sorry to ramble. I'm sure everything will be better this time. Shorter recovery included.

I freaked out when they told me I was going to have a c section and be awake for it. I wanted put under but I'm so glad I wasn't. It actually wasn't scary at all! They pretty much just take you into the room and get you all set up and make sure your numb from your nipple down then they let your SO into the room and they begin. You don't feel anything until they say "your going to feel some pressure" and your little one is born =). then of course they stitch you up or whatever they decide to do. At my hospital they tied my hands and legs down just incase i started freaking out but i couldn't even move my legs? Ha who knows. Just be prepared to be really itchy afterwards from the numbing stuff.

I didn't get any pain meds afterwards besides tylenol and ibprophen or whatever. The pain was horrible but soooo worth it
