Quoting xxnine_inch_nailsxx:“ Hmm try the swimmer shoes that she can wear on the sand and in the water

We have those! We'll probably give them a shot. We also have like 20 blankets and a mini tent for her to hide in. And not to mention all her sand toys. So i'm sure she'll be fine.It will be the 1st tijme in over a year that i could put her in one spot and she'll stay there!!! lol.

We got her to sit on a blanket at the beach when we watched the fire works so its one step closer! Sadly its cloudy and a lil chilly out today.
Thanks everyone for the advise and insight.

My daughter was like that with grass (younger -- she is 13 mos now, this happened as soon as it got nice enough to go outside). I would go to put her on the grass (even if it was on a blanket) and she would shake and cry. She was terrified. If I tried to stand her up she would lift her legs so her feet would not touch the grass. Then one day I just decided to sit down on the grass and put her in my lap. She freaked at first but i just stayed calm and showed her "look mommy touches the grass" very slowly. After about 10 minutes she stuck her hand in the grass, then a foot, then she was over it. Now she has no issue with it. Just take it slow and show her that it's OK. It could also be that the beach is a BIG and it just freaks her out a little! Good luck!

UPDATE:
The day it was cloudy we decided to just go for a walk and ended up wanting to sit on the beach. Averi had her shoes and socks on and walked right into the sand with daddy. She was a little hesitant at first but quick began tugging through at full speed without a care. So put out a blanket and she happily sits and watches grandpa and daddy play in the sand. About a foot away was some kind of "fort" built out of sand abanoned and grandpa gets Averi attention to it and asks her if she wants to see it. In the mean time we took off her shoes and socks. She says "ok!" and grandpa takes her hand and walks her right through the sand to the fort. She was like   for a minute but then didnt care one bit. So there she is DIGGING and playing barefoot in the sand she once feared. I was so happy.
Then today was the perfect beach day and we went in first with the socks and shoes since the sand was hot. Then once everything was settled we took of her socks and shoes and she was playing in the sand like nothing. We even showed her the ocean and she LOVED it. She wanted to go super deep even!!! But she loved to jump the waves and kick the water. You couldnt keep her out of it!

So crisis is now over. She got over her sand fear thanks to goofy grandpa and a little determination (and the lovely ladies of BG!). Its definalty going to be a great memory to look back on!

Thanks everyone!!!
