finger blister?! wtf?

posted 4th Jul
Darwin is 15 months. Just got one 1yr old molar and is currently working on 2 more plus an incisor.

Yesterday DH noticed that on the left index finger's middle knuckle, Darwin has a blister!

So we ran the gamut of what coulda caused it....we ruled out any burns. It's not in a spot where one typically burns his/herself on things. And it didn't cry out in pain recently, nor does he seem to favor the blistered finger.

Our conclusion is that this is a friction/rubbing blister most likely from chewing on his fingers like a teether.

Anyone else have this happened before???

totally not! lol...the surrounding area is red. The blistery section is raised, milky white w/ a hint of purple...and the blister itself is all wrinkly like when the fluid levels in a blister dip down.

Poor baby.

Could he have pinched himself? Have you seen him chewing on his fingers?

Def have seen him chewing excessively on his fingers in the recent past.

I suppose pinching is always an option, but neither I nor DH could remember Darwin screaming in pain in the past couple of days...

Funny thing about kids is they won't always cry if something happens. Especially if it was on a toy or something they are having fun with. And he is a boy. They tend to be a little bit more tougher!
