Happy 6th Birthday Sophie

Today is the birthday of sweet angel Sophie who passed in '07 from pediatric brain cancer. Today would have marked her 6th birthday.

I stumbled across her story while driving with my husband and baby. We saw a bumper sticker with a rainbow and dates and her name. (I previously posted about her when I first came across her story and page) I went to her page created by her family and read every blog and was very touched. I still follow the family's updates. Since first seeing the bumper sticker and being shocked to realize Sophie and her family were rather close to where I am, I have seen so many more on passing vehicles. I hope it brings more awareness to parents.

Not only did I want to post a happy birthday for this beautiful little girl, but I think more people need to become further educated on her diagnosis. Its not as rare as we may think.... Please take a moment to visit Sophie's page....

That was my exact reaction when I first started reading through her story....

Its about 1/3 of the way down.. the date posted was Sunday, April 6 and titled "6 Months Without Sophie"

I would love to participate in one of the fundraisers they hold in the area. I think in the coming months, I'll have to do just that because there are still families struggling through pediatric brain cancer diagnosis with their children and it puts such a strain, not only emotionally, but financially also.

completely understandable. I just saw that today is your due date! How exciting! Good luck.. obviously she isn't here yet, but good luck... any time now! 

what the hell..how can someone so beautiful be taken away so young??   I'm crying my eyes out right now..her story is so sad!!

i am sad she didnt come today,but she will come when she is ready and aparently she didnt want her birthday to be today,guess she is too cool..lol..
