I come from a very traditional and religious family. To say the least, I was embarrassed to be pregnant out of wedlock, just from the way I was brought up and the morals that are ingrained in me. And I worry too much about what other people think, so I (on occasion) would wear the fake rings while I was at the mall or whatever, so people didn't think I was pregnant and unmarried. Heh. Even though I'm sure NO ONE cared about it like I did. Since it's not exactly an uncommon thing... heh. It's just the way I was brought up. I felt ashamed.

But my family took the news very well   better than I had expected.. I put off telling them for a long time.

But now I am married for real

I think that there are a lot of unconventional 'wedding rings' that are very beautiful, however, I can see where people might not think they're real. In high school, I knew a ton of girls with unconventional rings who wore them on their left hand ring finger. Its a lot more common nowadays than I realized for a woman of any age to do.

i have a yellow diamond, & i LOVE it. i'm glad i didn't get a plain ring  .

mine is traditional but, it's got a bit of a twist to it. Just enough to keep it interesting.

Mine is a simple 1/4 carat pricess cut but, the band is embossed w/a design that looks kinda like butterflies or flowers

I love the simplicity. I plan on getting a bigger more interesting ring on our 10 year anniversary (4 years to go) But, hubs didn't have a ton of money when he bought it and I think it's really perfect. I'm saving it for Elliot's special someone.

Mine is traditional. I don't consider the rings with different stone as an engagement rings. I call them right hand ring.

I got a kind of nontraditional ring... It's my wedding band and engagement ring in one. It's gold and silver with diamonds, but no large stone. I am traditional in almost every aspect of my life but I don't really like jewelry so this is more comfortable for me to wear. I love it. I can't wear it now because I am swollen like a pregnant sausage though lol

Bah! I've had mine 18 months and this is the first time I've gotten it done... it wasn't TOO bad, it was definitely getting yellow-tinted... but John's needs to be refinished BAD. It's all dinged up and stuff. I'm taking his in when I go to pick mine up.
