Getting your tubes tied??

Does anyone know exactly how the doctor ties your tubes through your belly button?? That seems kinda painful. My doc hasn't really given me any of the details how it's done.

I haven't heard too much about the procedure itself but I've heard way too many horror stories about the after affects. One lady on here says she regrets ever doing it because she has periods from hell.

My SO did some research on his own and thinks my bodies been through enough so he's volunteering to have a vasectomy.

i think they cut and burn them closed now, but be careful!

that's exactly what my doctor told me how it is done if you are getting your tubes tied after having a vaginal deliver---it is through your belly button :p

They have this new procedure out,''The device, called Essure, uses a tiny insert to create a blockage in the fallopian tube, which prevents a woman's eggs from reaching the uterus and becoming fertilized.'' It is inserted in you, you do not have to be put under or anything like that no surgery. You might want to look into this.

If you do chose the Essure over a tubal you need to be 110% sure you don't want anymore children. A tubal can be reversed but the essure builds up scare tissue throughout the tubes so it is almost impossible to reverse.
