best time

Whens the best time to go start birthing classes, do the hospital tour, etc.
I'm almost 28 weeks right now, and I was thinking about starting some birthing classes soon, but I wasn't sure if there was a certain time that it would be better to start around.

I would start looking into birthing classes NOW and as for the hospital about 32- 36 weeks I think

My dr said after 33 weeks. but try before 37 weeks

A lot of times they won't be able to get you in right away so I would go ahead and schedule them.
I was 34 weeks when we took them (only time my husband had leave) and I was the furthest along in the class.. the rest of girls were between 26-29 weeks I believe. It sucked cause I got up and peed like 15 times during the class lol

Did it not say in the information about your hospital? For birthing classes mine suggested signing up at 12-14wks from how fast the classes fill up.

For the hospital tour (since I did not do any birthing classes) I went around 28wks and I'm glad I did. I was miserable enough at that point walking all over the place.

now, but honestly, I rented a movie and watched it and laughed my ass through it lol.

Your body will show you how to breathe through contractions and how to move trough them, you just have to listen.

That's about when I took a tour of the hospital--- Its also nice to take a tour bc if you ever have to go to the hospital early (knock on wood) your more familiar with where to go

yeah the childbirth classes just helped my husband a lot that's why we took them  
He knew nothing at all about labor and he feels more confident being my support person now

I did take a breastfeeding class, and that was helpful kinda lol, I stopped bfing at 2 weeks pp lol

I prob should've taken one.. they highly recommend it, but my mom laughed when I told her that. She's like you'll be fine and I'll help you if you need it

it was helpful but it was really indepth about hinmilk and foremilk

I wasn't even that commited to nursing to begin with lol
