Hearing Protection

posted 4th Jul
My nephew is going to see fireworks tonight. He's 15 months old. What kind of hearing protection can you ladies recommend?

I was thinking about getting these:

but I don't know if they will fit him.

Can he cover his ears by himself? That's what my daughter does if they get too loud for her. Those probably won't fit in his ears and he more than likely won't keep them in anyway. You could also cover his ears for him.

I'm not sure if he can cover his ears, he's never really had to before.

Well..when a fire truck, ambulance, or police car goes by with sirens we cover them for him but it's only for a second and he hates it.

Maybe if I got the waterproof ones, I could cut them to make them smaller? Hmm.....I'm at a loss.

That's a good idea. I would try that. My daughter watched fireworks when she was 15 months and she didn't need anything. But, we also weren't lighting them. We were just watching them from a street over.

As long as you are sitting next to the fireworks, it really shouldn't be much of an issue. I've never protected myself (nor did my parents for me when younger) and I never have for my kids.

Brooklyn was 2 weeks old when she went to the the fireworks for the 4th 2 years ago and she slept through them
