which do you think I need right away...

posted 4th Jul
Okay so I have a list of things I'd like to get before Makayla gets here in October...

We had a really early baby shower and got a lot of cash so on monday we're going shopping for some of the bigger items...

** we already ordered, the stroller, carseat, and nursery furninture.....**

I'm torn on if I should buy a jumperoo thing right away or wait, I mean at first she'll be waaay too tiny to put in that right?

I figured, a bouncer, a swing, and a playmat were things we should buy right away and maybe wait on the jumperoo thing until she's a little bit older...maybe 4 months?

ahhh I have no clue what the time line is for all of this, like when they can start using different things!!!

Also, moms that have gotten pack n' plays that have the changing station built in....Did you really use it? or not really....?
We planned on buying a pack n' play to keep in the living room...

any input?

You can definitely wait on the jumperoo. 4 months is usually around when they start using them.

Definitely get the swing and bouncer now.

Thank you!!! From what I've heard the bouncer and swing are lifesavers....

How bout a highchair?...I plan on breastfeeding so I really didnt see a need for that right away either...

it is early to buy the jumperoo but if you have the extra money why not buy just so you have it! & withthe pack & play i never used the changing table it seems too small for me & with the air being on it is always so cold but thats my opinion. i got the elyse pack&play by graco and it has the built in changing table & like an infant sleeping station and i didnt use either lol

I got a high chair that goes over a kitchen chair & love it! madison is only 8 weeks so she doesnt use it but my nephew is 11 months and he is always in it & it doesnt take up any extra room

we never used the changing thing on the pack n play but the pack n play is a must IMO. we kept brysons by our bed until we put him in his own room. also i would wait on the bouncer...we just got one for him when he was like 4 months or so and he didnt even HAVE to have it then. i LOVE our swing but IMO if u have a swing set up in ur living room or something theres really no need for a little bouncer seat thing....

We used the bouncer and swing the most in the beginning and started the playmat around 4 to 6 weeks! She loves the playmat more than anything else we've bought! She's just about 5 months and absolutely loves the jumperoo, but I'd definately wait to buy it as the baby won't be using it for awhile!

wait on the jumparoo....and my son lives in his pack n play!!! jk not really but we do use it ALL the time we dont even use the changing table in his room. He sleeps in the bassinet part all the time. I dont know what I would do without it. It has a nightlight, a vibrator, plays all different sorts of sounds and music. IMO its the best thing we received/have for him

You heard right. They are definitely lifesavers!

I didn't buy a highchair. I bought a booster. Can sit it anywhere. Straps to a chair if you want. I usually set it on the floor and sit on the floor in front of him.

Saves space & cheaper. I also waited to buy it until he was ready to use it.

see, we recieved a really pretty bassinet to keep in our room for a little while until we make the transition into her room, and we were going to keep the pack n play downstairs, that way we aren't disassembling things whenever we want to bring things upstairs or downstairs....

we also recieved a bumbo and the tray that goes with it, I figured I could always use that to sit her in to feed her if need be, but I'm leaning more towards the strap on ones, especially because our kitchen isnt huge....

We never got a jumperoo, we got an excersaucer that was great.

I threw away the changing table part of the packnplay. I hated it.

I've never used a changing table. It was too much of a hassle. A bath towel on the bed was good enough for those quick changes for us.

I would wait on the jumperoo. That'd be good when she gets a bit older and can hold her head up.

Are you looking for things that are big that you need right away?

I mostly used the swing, carseat, and stroller in those first few months. After that is when we got to tummy-time type of things and other toys.

We are doing the opposite. I am keeping the packnplay upstairs and the mini bassinet downstairs. I have to go get one still.
