Some 4th of July... (major ventage)

What the hell is it with my damn husband? He's such a jerk when it comes to holidays and I'm getting really tired of staying happy while he tells me how he could care less about them and sits on his ass. If that's how he feels, FINE. I don't care until you start ruining my day and my kid's.

All I asked to do today is to go to a nearby base (10 minute drive) for a couple hours to see the fireworks and walk around as a family. That's it. No BBQ, no huge party or celebration, nothing. I don't think that's too much to ask for. What does he want to do? Sit on his ass ALL day watching TV and playing video games! Oh wait. He mowed the lawn. Yippee. He's got a 4 day weekend to do nothing and a couple hours of family time isn't going to kill him, is it? I am SOOO mad at him right now.

You know, maybe I'm being unreasonable and can't tell through being so pissed. Maybe. But he was NEVER this way with holidays until after we got married. It may seem petty to all of you but this was one of the things in life that I really love because of how I grew up. Major holidays. Not frickin' Columbus Day or something. Hell even on St Patty's all I say it to wear green and that's it! It's stuff like the 4th, Valentine's, Xmas, Thanksgiving! Four WHOLE holidays that really take very little effort on his part.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I am angry.

I know how you feel... This is my SO only day off this weekend, and he's out probably fucking his cousin... He hasn't been home since yesterday.

I hope his nuts fall off!

Been a lot of these evil SO posts today. Glad I'm not the only one. Scott got mad because I didn't want to be stuck at a friend's house today because we stayed the night and he wanted to hang out wih Josh and I HATE Josh. so it's already hard enough to deal with them hanging out. Which I do deal with it but when he was like well I have to use your car. and I'm like WTF we drove here together so I have no car. What if I wanted to go home and not be stuck here all day. So I was like whatever take my car but don't be gone forever if you wanted to hang out with him today you should of brought your own car and he's like fine I'll walk. So his dumbass walked like 5 fucking miles just to prove a point. & we have to go to my brother's a 6 for a cook out and stuff and if he's no back by then I swear!!!!!

I'm so sorry! If nothing else, he should do things for his kids.I feel like I want to do things now that I have kids....& I'm glad James feels the same. I would never let James waste money on fireworks before Charlie, but now they are both in heaven lol.

My husband doesn't take holidays too seriously...but I think that is just how it was when he grew up. When I grew up we had parties for Christmas and Thanksgiving...he isn't used to all of it yet. But also, he has to work almost all of the major holidays! Except for Christmas morning. So that could be why too.

my husband doesn't take holidays seriously at all since his family didn't growing up. i on the other hand decorate for most holidays. i even make a big deal about st. patrick's day and he just lets me and says he doesn't understand it. 

I have unplugged his gaming before for serious relationship talks but I wouldn't do it for this though...

He used to say he didn't care and he just went with the flow but within the last couple years it's like I'm killing him and he hates to do anything and makes an effort (it seems) to be a turd about it! Arg!

I just don't see why it's that big a deal to just take a little time to do what everyone wants.

I decorate too! I go all out, lol. I cannot wait for Halloween and Christmas!!
