How long is acceptable,,,?

for a baby daddy and mama to go without talking during pregnancy?

Some of you know the story. BD and I broke up about a month ago. He cheated on me and is still with the girl he ditched me for. He goes to the ultrasounds, wants to go to therapy with me, and came to my baby shower. He's pleasent when we talk-- but its rare we talk unless I initaite it. I feel like his efforts are all overe the place.  

So I guess my question is, if he is going to the trouble of therapy and obviously cares about the baby, but is still retarded about gettin himself strait -- and we are broken up -- how often are we supposed to speak to eachother?

When we first broke up, he said he still cared about me n the baby n such. And I asked him just to check on me once in awhile so I didn't feel completely abandoned. Well, he did once or twice on txt, but every other single time we have talked on the phone its been me to call him. We haven't spoken since my baby shower on sunday. Is that acceptable? I mean, should he be making more of an effort to communicate with me if he really means that he wants to be around? Or am I just too clingy and this is how its supposed to be now that we are seperated?  

I need to figure it out before we go to therapy I think???

Can we PLEASE not use the R word?!! ugh....and there is no acceptable time limit between talking, you guys are broken up, if he wants anything to do with the baby he should come to you IMO

i agree.
let him make the effort. not to talk to you. but with the baby. obviously you're always gonna be there for your baby. but if he isn't going to try to be on his own, don't force him. sooner or later he'll see what he's missing out on.

My ex and I didn't talk for 15 months, 9 months of pregnancy and 6 months of my daughter's life, we still talk once a month about money, no pleasantries.

I don't think it's a question anyone can answer, especially if the question is 'what is acceptable', I mean every situation is so specific and individual, it's a very odd question to ask.

Judging by your situation, I hate to break it to you darling but .. by the looks of it you are going to be a single mother. I'm a single mother, I'm afraid it's about time you stop fanatically trying to figure out where you and your -ex- stand, and start planing for your future and your child's future, where you're going to get money, where you will live, do you want an education, if so how are you going to go about it .. the questions are endless and trust me, how often you talk to your ex is probably the last thing you should be concerned about.

If you can't get this out of your head then why don't you two have an adult, mature talk and find out where you stand instead of playing silly games.
