oh my goodness.

so i've been set on the name rowan since i found out i was pregnant. and now i'm not so sure. i think its the fact that my mom is forcing me to give her the middle name charlee because my dad and both grandfathers have the name charles, chuck, charlie. its driving me nuts and hearing rowan charlee so much has made me start to hate the name i once adored. i don't know what to do. thank god i don't have anything personalized!!!!!!!!!!

Your mom can't force you to name your child something you don't like.

I would ignore her and go with what sounds right to you.

I would not let anyone "force" me into naming my child something I did not want to.

Why don't they just wait for the next boy in the family, instead of forcing the name on a girl. It sounds weird. I like Rowan though.

its your child. name her what you want. if your mother doesnt like it, tough cookies. you're the one thats pregnant for 9 months... you're the one that signs the birth certificate... you get to name her. end of story.

don't let ANYONE inffluence what your going to name your children .... names are forever .... name it whatever YOU want. 

it annoys me to the max. like she had three of her own to name. and normally i'd just be like listen piss off, i'm naming her what i want but then she gives me this guilt trip about well your poppy isn't gonna be around much longer, and she already told him that'll be the name so he refuses to acknowledge her first name! this is tough. i'm changing the name but i really don't know what i like.

Don't worry, sometimes the perfect name turns out to be anything but perfect.

I've always had a list of certain names I thought I'd use if I had a girl or boy, in the end I had a daughter and she looked nothing like any of the names I had picked out, I ended up naming her a name I had never even considered or thought of during pregnancy.

I wouldn't let her force me. My mom tried to do the same thing to me. She kept pressing on certain names. I let her help me pick the middle name. But You could always go with a girls name that is similar..Like Rowan Charlotte..idk just a thought.

Let Poppy think her name is Charlee if he wants. Tell your mom to stuff it. Stand up to her and tell her SHE is the GRANDma and not the mama and your baby will be named what YOU want. You can't le your mom push you around like that. She'll walk all over you for other things too. It's not her baby and if you don't like Charlee (i don't) then don't use it!

Rowan is a beautiful name and deserves and equally beautiful middle name. Not just what your mom wants.

Good golly there momma............ What you letting your momma make you so uneasy about your baby name???? And tell her you are saving the Chunky Cheese Charlie name for your cousins child........... Yeah, you just gotta tell her like it is. Now, can you do that????

I have to admit that Rowan Charlee (or Charlene which is not heard so often anymore) doesn't sound so good, but Charlee Rowan isn't so bad.

that said however, it is your child & unless you are allowing someone else a name to put in there (like we do, each parent & each set of Grandparents get to place a name, & if/when we adopt the Birth parents also will get a name, though we chose order, & yes that does mean 4/5 given names) than it is no one's place to tell anyone anything else EVER!
