c-sec or VBAC?

posted 4th Jul
What do you guys think is safer for me AND THE BABY? waht would you do? its been 2 years since my last pregnancy, i have a low transverse scar and the only reason i had c-sec was becasue baby's heart rate dropped right at 10 centimeteres...i pushed for like 5 minutes..then they wheeled me away. Should i go for the VBAC? or too dagnerous?

I hate the thought of a scheduled C-section I like the surprise of going into labor. When I have another it will be a VBAC I think you should go for it!

I am going for a VBAC, I personally beleive that a repeat csection has more risks then a VBAC.

It took me 5 hours on the phone to find a doctor that delivers at the hospital that has not banned them here. I am very happy with my choice.

That isn't something we can decide for you. I had a c-section w my 1st son and I felt like I was totally robbed from an amazing birth experience. I want a VBAC for my next one

You should find a willing doctor who could help you out with the VBAC. Personally, I would try for the VBAC.

It's very safe to have a vbac. There is a higher risk of complications with each succeeding c section. It gets bigger than the risk of uterine abruption, I think it's after two? If you want to have a third baby you may not be given the opportunity for vbac again. Do it, I promise you won't regret it. Your doctor will keep a close, close eye on you. I think you'll be required to have an epi, just in case something DOES happen (the chance is 1 in 100 though... not very big  ) Also you may not be given pitocin.

If you want it bad enough, you are willing to do the research and hours on the phone to find a doctor that will let you. My old doctor told me no, I found a new doctor.

That sucks   I just had a baby eight months ago and my doc gave me the option. A lot of doctors and hospitals don't do it cause their malpractice insurance skyrockets if they do.

I dont have to have an epi, but I do have to sign all of the paperwork for a spinal incase something happens.

I will not be able to have pitocin, but I will be able to have a cervix softening agent if needed.

I haven't had this discussion with my doc yet, lol she just asked if I wanted it. I learned that from research.

I almost wouldn't want pitocin   Or an epi. I had a failed induction last time and it was awful. I couldn't walk around or get up. I hated it.

I told my doctor I want to go 100% natural as far as pain meds, and he is very supportive of it. I am going to hire a doula to help out. It does all depend on the doctor though.

Even if this wasnt a VBAC I would never ever have pitocin again. Horrible experience. I feel that my epi last time didnt help the fact that I had the csection.

It is definitely worth the research to at least have the discussion with a new doctor about it. I felt VERY VERY comfortable with my new doctor right away.

He will even let me go into labor before a csection if I have to have one. Unless something is really wrong obviously.

But I am happy that he will let my body go into labor before a csection if it has to go that way.
