yeah i def wanna try VBAC. i did switch doctors from my last "group" and now i have 1 single doc and he says i am a great candidate for a VBAC. so unless something goes wrong..ie-low fluid, baby over 9.5 lbs, breech baby or i go more than 3 days past my due date....he said i can try VBAC for sure. so we will see...i am nervous though. i hear some people say it's better for the baby to have c-sec. but i guess mother nature will tell em what to do.  thanks everyone!

will he not even let u try to push a baby over 9.5 pounds out? My friend just had her baby natural he weighed 11 pounds 6oz! Hopefully when ur due date comes u can have a natural birth!

nope, he wont even let me try. my daughter was 8.7 at 41 weeks, so lets hope this one isnt over 9 pounds or i am in trouble. the other thing that bothers me is that alot of times when they measure at 10 pounds or whatever, they can come out like 8 pounds, so it's not even that accurate! But i trust his judgement, he's great. id rather have a c-sec then a vaginal with something go wrong u know? i am just gonna go with the flow.

yeah i think thats a good idea. I mean doctors only do c sections if they know its wats best  I had a c section for the sme reason as u w/ the heartrate dropping and plus i was stuck at 7 cm after 28 hours lol. I hope it all goes good for u mamma

Pitocin was abused in my last labor. my contracts were 45 seconds apart
Then I got the epi and not five min. later D's heartrate dropped.
C sec time

My contractions at the closest that I remember were 2 minutes apart. They started it because after being there for 12 hours my labor kinda stopped.

You should try for a VBAC. Your reason is not likely to repeat for your first C-section. After only one C-section and you waiting 2 years it is very safe! You have a .05 percent chance of a uterine rupture, and only half of that number is itcatastrophic. (Women can have UR even if they have not had any surgery on their uterus. My OB has only seen 3 UR in his 20 plus yrs of practice. he said all three cases the mom and baby were fine, one mom of the three had a hysterectomy, and one mom had a UR and it was her first baby!)

Funny enough, I had the very same thing happen to me with my first labor.I was pushing and not more than 3 pushes later and 3 tries at a vacuum they had me wheeled down the hall for an emergency C-section. My baby's HR went into the 60's and wasn't coming back up. I was so close to pushing him out just like you were with your baby! It mad me want to try again for a vaginal birth.

I am now going for a VBA2C and have found a truly supportive OB to deliver this baby. I had to switch doctors to get him. He does not have time limits on labor and/or pushing, does not induce labor, will only consider a C-section if the baby is 10.5 to 11 pounds or bigger, andI can go up to 2 weeks over my due date.As long as baby and mother are healthy and doing well there is no reason for a C-section.
Check out ICAN.org and VBAC.com and read books on VBAC. The more you know, the better the outcome. I recommend hiring a birth doula too!!

Do not be afraid to look for another doctor if yours seems unlikely to let you VBAC. There are a lot of doctors out there they pretend to be supportive of VBAC's but then you find out they have too many stipulations upon it: if the baby is over 8 pounds, if you go over your due date, if your labor doesn't progress 1cm every 2 hours, etc. BS - they secretly want to section you for theirconvenence.
