Did having a baby change your circle of friends?

Lately I like hanging around older ppl like my mom,aunts, and ppl with kids. I dont have the desire to partake in things that dont involve babies, pareting, etc. I want to befriend ppl with kids so we can do and go places with the kids once my daughter is here. Life changes so much! This time last summer I would just be getting in from the club lol... I have no desire to club or date around or anything I would normally do. My focus has changed drastically! Did anybody else change like this during their pregnancy or after having kids? I dont even like shopping unless it pertains to my baby girl!

YES!!!!!!!!!! We never get invited out anymore since were the "ones" with the baby. Its like were suddenly not cool or something anymore. It blows. We still wanna go out and have fun, but?

lol i hear about stuff like that but with me im not interested in hangin out with ppl that are not parents they are the uncool ones not us lol

Being pregnant has changed some things and not others. I spend more time at home now, and I talk to different people more than I did but other things haven't changed. Hubby still has friends over and they still drink and have a good time, I also have a good time, I just no longer have a drink in my hand.

That's happened to us.. when we were pregnant with JC.. nobody called us to go out or anything, and we didn't want to. I found myself changing my friends from the non parents.. to the ones that were expecting or already had kids.. It's so strange how that works out.

yep totally true with us. we used to hang out with the partiers and now we hang with alot of couples with kids or that are expecting. So true about the shopping too...whenever I have to go out shopping im always adding one baby item in and I dont really wanna go out unless I need something for her. Its almost like ive become lazy when it comes to me and im focusing all on her...

lol...well trust me once u have that baby youll "need" time away lol...i love my baby girl to death , but at times you need some fun, know what i mean?

On top of all that, I find myself talking about Gavin allllll the time. Not intentionally, but, I'm attached at the hip with. I rarely am without him... so how could I not talk about him? The only friend thatI have who loves to heareverything about him is his godmother. Everyone else is whatever about hearing about him.

Oh absolutely, which is why it sucks that there isn't of our family in this state to babysit once in a while  

I guess I was lucky with friends because all my friends who I had before having Shayna who have no kids themselves are still my friends now and they all love and care about her. they are excited t9o see or hear anything regarding her.

lol b4 gettin pregnant i was the same way i would be like why do they feel the need to tell me about this damn baby... who cares but now i love hearing stories about ppl's kids

lol i know i will but for the most part she will go EVERYWHERE wit me except school hell i mite take online classes just to be with her more

My whole life changed, many people say that but it truly did.
Before my son I only had a few friends & they were always out partying & I was right by them, when I got pregnant I would prefer to take my mother's invite to shopping over going out for lunch with my friends, simply because they were still talking about: "OMG do you think he likes me?" "Am I fat?" (lovely talking about that when you have a pregnant person next to you lol) & if I spoke about anything pregnancy related they were either confused or grossed out. Most of them never hid the fact that they thought I was ruining my life either  
When ever I go out shopping my son always gets something even if I'm pretty much broke if I see something that he could benefit from I'll get it! The week before last as soon as our pay cheque was in I wanted to go buy him a baby couch & it was 20mins til the store closed & it took 10mins to get there but I was like "I'm gonna be soooo disappointed if I dont get there in time." I'm odd.

Sorry for the ramble on but yeah your circle of friends will change, it will make you realise who your REAL friends are.

i want close friends with ppl who have kids thats just my preference i have never really had many female friends my family is huge i have enough sis cuzs and aunts to last a lifetime anyway
