Well, there you go! You have a chance at having twins. May not be high, but it's probably there.

it also goes by age... the older you are the higher your chance of concieving twins. when you get older your body starts releasing more eggs at a time...

My mom was watching i didnt know i was pregnant and they ask true or false questions and they said that eating yams ups your chances for twins.

I was watching a show on TLC the other night about twins. Identical twins do not depend on genetics and they occur 1 in every 225 pregnancies. Fraternal twins are dependent on your genetics and age. If they run in your family then your odds increase and the older you are makes your chances increase. I also read a study about this tribe I think in Africa...the primarily eat sweet potatos or was it yams???and they have a really high occurance of twins...just thought I'd share that tid-bit lol!

Well I can barely carry one so that will be on my list of foods to avoid when I am TTC in like 3-5 years!

1 in 88 conceptions are multiples, but not all are carried, some are absorbed by the body. Taking folic acid before pregnancy is linked to multiples, though there's no proof. Twins running in your family..IF fraternal increases your odds. Increase in age also increases your chances. Asians are more likely to have twins than other races.
