is she underweight??

posted 3rd Jul
so i just had a dr. appt on june 24th, and i found out that Kailynn is 11 lbs 9 oz. when she was born, she was 6 lbs 7.2 oz. and at her 2 mth well baby check up, she was 10 lbs 9 oz. it seems like in 2 mths shes only gained a pound. but the thing is, she eats like a mad man, from formula, to STAGE 2 baby foods like bananas, peas, carrots, chicken noodle dinners, the works. she drinks pear juice, apple juice and i put cereal in some of her bottles whether its juice milk, or water. i even put it in her baby food. how has she only gained a lb (just btwn us, ive been giving her bananas and applesauce since she was 2 mths nd puttin cereal in her bottles for about that same amount of time) and she was the right weight at her 2mth check up. whats going on with her weight?

Feeding those foods so early could be doing it to her

her body is not absorbing what she needs to grow

research. Foods at 6months....juice then too, but then it should be watered down....and it's not NEEDED

wow....you shouldn't be doing all that to her poor tum tum
juice is full of empty nutrients...it doesn't give her anything like the formula does, it just fills up her tummy.

For one, did your dr say you could give your baby cereal at such a young age!? & another thing, you NEVER put it in the bottle (Choking hazard). Dont be so lazy & not feed it to your kid. & according to my daughter's Pedi, your baby is perfectly fine on JUST a milk diet till they're at least 9 months! Why in the HELL start so early on your baby!? & just because your kid eats like a "mad man" doesnt mean she will gain wait. You sound really stupid throughout your whole post. & to answer your question about her weight: if her doctor didnt mention anything about her being "underweight" then...that shouldnt be what you're worried about. What you should be worried about is how YOU manage your daughter's diet.

Most docts like to see a baby double their birth weight by their fourth month well baby check. I think your dd is on the right track. With that said, you should talk to your doctor about the food you're giving her. Babies only need formula or breastmilk until they reach four to six months of age.
