He has severe reflux. He's nine months old and hasn't once choked.

You're not making it as thick as pudding.. You're thickening it a little so that it sits a little bit heavier in their stomach. It makes them throw up less.

Its true that its outdated.

My mom& gramma tell me shit all the time, which may have worked for them at the time. However, we know better now, so why not do better?

It's also directly linked to obesity later in life.....

In cases of severe reflux, its necessary.

In this case, the benefits of giving him the cereal outweigh the possibility of obesity later in life.

Research, then type.

lol I gave my baby cerael in his bottle since he was about 2 and a half months because of acid reflex and he now is 3 and only weights 27 lbs...so you tell me if it hurt him. I dont think so. But it was either do that or he would stop breathing.

Quoting ♥Lol:“ From when he was born? I think thats a little outrageous.”
he was born at 27 weeks and spent 7weeks in the nicu. When we brought him home on the monitor and oxygen he would drop his stats. Well I freak out and thats what the doctor said to do. He was already on zantac for acid reflex but I guess when he started having his formula come up he would stop breathing. So we did every bottle with cereal in it until he was like 9 months. And It sure dont help with them sleeping all night long like people say it does. But yeah I would do it again cause as soon as we started doing that he was fine and still is today!

Again, I did not say there was anything wrong with you.

I just said its clearly outdated advice, and clearly the OP needs some more up to date and medically sound advice.

Thats cool. .

A simple," Oh your right, it is kinda outdated" would have done just fine.

I know you were asking the other girl this, but I just felt like answering as well. lol.

I tried to give Kat cereal at 4 months but it constipated her too much so she went straight to stage 1 food at 4 months. Boy did she love them carrots and peas. lol
