re: Military wives?

posted 3rd Jul
I have been an army wife for almost two years. My hubby joined after we got married. Four years after to be exact. I love being an army wife except i ahve almost been a single mom for two years. he was home long enough to get me pregnant again and left. So now I have two kids and i am doing it all alone. i love my hubby and respect the decision he made to keep up our family. Deployments suck big ass! Our reunion is coming up soon, though not sure of the date, but I cant wait!

It takes some getting used to. I love the Army lifestyle. My husband has been in 4 yrs and we got together a month after he got to his first duty station. Deployments suck but you get used to it.

Well he was going to go to the reserves and they were going to take a waiver because he went to the Dr. and he said he was fine, but then his recruiter said the reserves wouldnt take waivers and he has been talking to his recruiter and he hasn't said anything about them not taking him... I think were going to talk to his recruiter sometime this week so I can learn more about the army and all that stuff since I have no clue about any of it...

They can waiver it, but typically they dont. Who knows, good luck though

Hm, generally the reserve will take prior service members with a waiver (I'm in the AF Reserves) but they do get picky from time to time, and right now I'm sure their enlistment numbers are up since the economy is down the tube.

Talk with the AD recruiter, they;ll probably send him to MEPS with his own doctors opinion and cleanerace and let the MEPS docs take a look at hime and then judge.

Im in the same boat as you. me and the hubby are schedualed to get married in December. but the wedding may be in November, because of volunteer deployment.. BUT, i feel (and so does he) im being a great SO/future wife standing behind him and his choices. We talk positively about the future and about when he comes back... it helps the both of us.

I dont know about the OPSEC thing. My hubby wont talk dates. EVER. He said that he isnt allowed and nor are we. he might just be trying to be super careful so he doesnt get into trouble. I also got my shit jumped on a myspace group for saying the date he was leaving for iraq and the date he was supposed to come home for r&r. I think Im gonna go look it up now just to familiarize myself with it again.
