The avent leaked like crazy for me.. I like playtex ventaire and dropins. I've got "variable flow" nipples, so she controls how fast or slow it comes out. We got those because she was frustrated with the slow nipples - wouldnt come out fast enough. And then the med flow was too fast. Lol. She had a really bad month where she wouldnt nurse, so we used the bottles. She's back to nursing full time though...
I liked Avent and Drop-Ins but they are too pricey. But I used the Gerber classic and she loved those nipples and they are Bpa free and CHEAP like 3 of em' for 3 bucks...and we used nuby sippys when we first broke her but now she likes the straw cups and won't drink a sippy...she is only 13 mos!
Kat never ever had colic and she was a doc brown baby. You can get them in glass so there's no worry about the compound they found in plastic bottles which can lead to diabetes. The air flow is phenomenal. I've never heard of a colicky doc brown baby, and I've seen several parents switch and seen vast improvements.
The First Years Breastflow System
I had TWO LC's recommend it, and the pedi we just chose is a huge proponent of these too if you are trying to keep breastfeeding but want to be able to bottlefeed pumped milk occasionally to let dadddy share the load at night or when your LO is being watched by others.
my son did the gerber - just the cheapies...not sure what they actually were if they were the nuks or not but he had used the ones from the nicu for EVER and we couldn't get him to do anything else for along time. i exclusively pumped for about 6 months i think since breast feeding was a like a torture session in his eyes.
then he started to be able to use the gerber generic ones...
Quoting Abend88:“ Trying to decide on which ones to get. Which was your favorite?”
i can't really vote on these avent im not too crazy about because my son has to have cereal in his bottle because of acid reflux and i guess he sucks extra slow because of he cereal. Even flo is ok. I have a dr browns bottles i like them but they're a bitch to clean. I see alot of people here like he playtex drop ins and whats funny is i have them but i haven't used them yet lol. i got them as a gift at my baby shower but I think i will try them out.
My daughter took anything that fed her. She was sooooo easy when it came to stuff like that, so I just bought the cheap parent's choice ones from wal mart.
