thats what i did because it depends on the church some are super strict and some are more linient (sp)

No, both parents do not need to be catholic. You will need to attend a baptismal seminar first (ours was about an hour long), and one of the godparents has to be a practicing catholic (not both).

nope nothing. We didnt have to do anything.

i am catholic my husband is not. i do not go to church but i wanted my kids to be catholic. i called up one of the churches near my house and they said unless i was a member for a year they wouldn't do it there. so i called another and they said i just had to take a class. the class lasted like 1-2 hours tops and that was it. for my son i didn't have to take the class since i already took it.

No both parents do not need to be catholic but one parent needs to take the baptism class.
