breastfeeding while riding in the car + michigan

My cousin is a cop in michigan and she told me that it is legal to take you baby out of the carset and breastfeed in the back seat.  

Has anyone heard of anything like this?

While the car is going? No.. that is really dangerous  

i've never heard of that, i usually sit next to the baby and lean over and let them nurse while in the carseat. if it's a long trip...

I know we have gotten pulled over before and i was bfing my baby and the hi po gave us a warning , they can give you a ticket for child endangerment , but that was in Oklahoma....

yeah while the car is moving, she says that they were told that it was ok, and they dont get a ticket

A friend of mine's dad is a cop.. and told us the same thing. I would never do that tho.. doesn't sound too safe!

If you are driving and pull over and do it then you should be fine.

thats crazy!when we were moving it was an 18 hr drive & i would occasionally get gray out to feed him but it felt REALLY unsafe...

its not but in a long trip i do it, or when im not on big streets

Also, during a long car ride, I know my daughter needs out of her carseat to stretch a bit or she's a terror lol.

I went on a 12 hour trip when James was a week old and when he was hungry we stopped so he could eat! No reason you cant stop for 15-20 minutes to feed the baby. Especially when there are so many crazy drivers out there! I would never risk that!
