lol I think I can find some extra tranquilizers if you're interested.

What is it about this thread that gets people so fired up?

I am not worked up. I am just baffled that people think it is safe to do. And poeple are trying to explain themselves and its not making any sense.

I think it's silly to believe you can hold a baby in a crash.. It's called an accident because you dont' expect it to happen...

Quoting James Mama:“ Yeah”

So where exactly did I say it was safe. Because I clearly said both could sustain injury.

The only thing I disputed was use of the dummy as a representation.

I am a person, I explained my thought on the situation.

Just because you didn't say me by name does not mean that you weren't referring to me.

Obviously I am late to this thread, but IMHO anyone that would take there child out of thier carseat while it is moving in a car is missing a few brain cells. I can't believe that is a actual law in Michigan. Poor babies, that doesn't make any sense. And OP I know that you didn't or want to do this was just curious as to the law and good thread because I don't think I would have believed it if someone had of told me.

Only one comment before james mama's comment... the "that's fucked up"

Which I'm not saying is right/wrong, once again. She just worded her statement as if she was directing it specifically towards others in this thread just to get a rise... which it did

Quoting Ryder&Spencer'sMommy:“ Your body would not be able to hold on to a child. The forces would increase so much that it would be ... [snip!] ... as an airbag.

I remember in high school, maybe health class or something, someone did the math for this situation... like if you're holding a 20 lb baby, & the car is going 40 mph, the velocity & blah blah blah will make the 20 lb baby increase to 2000 lbs, or something crazy like that, so it's virtually impossible to safely keep holding onto a baby when a car crashes
