I also wouldnt lean over the seat. I would possibly land with my fuul weight on the baby then & inadvertantly hurt my child. Rest stops were made for a reason.

The force would make it so you wouldnt be able to hold on.

So just because you say it, it makes it true? In the case of holing a child, crash test dummys can't accurately represent reality in this case. Like i said I am not for either side of this argument. I have no desire to take my daughter out of her carseat. But That video is ludicrous.

Not comparing apples and oranges... since there are risks to both vaccinating and not: risk of pulling over and stopping the vehicle = zero. Risk of taking your child out while the car is in motion = definately NOT zero.

I don't believe that THOUSANDS of children have died, no. I'd like to see the data. Do you care to provide it?

Here, I looked it up for you... from the CDC:

"Of all deaths reported to VAERS between 1990 and 1992, only one is believed to be even possibly associated with a vaccine. Each death reported to VAERS is thoroughly examined to ensure that it is not related to a new vaccine-related problem, but little or no evidence suggests that vaccines have contributed to any of the reported deaths. The Institute of Medicine in its 1994 report states that the risk of death from vaccines is "extraordinarily low."

They couldn't even say for sure that that one death was associated in a three year time-frame.... yet somehow "thousands" die. Now who is being ridiculous?

Here is info on Gardasil, where rumors are running rampant in print and on the internet that it is "killing people:"

"Serious Reports (6% of total reports)
Concerns have been raised about reports of deaths occurring in individuals after receiving Gardasil. As of June 30, 2008, 20 deaths had been reported to VAERS. There was not a common pattern to the deaths that would suggest they were caused by the vaccine. In cases where autopsy, death certificate and medical records were available, the cause of death was explained by factors other than the vaccine."

Australia has been pushing Gardasil in the vaccine program and has yet to have a death "complaint" (for lack of a better word) filed (at least when I checked up on it at the beginning of 2009).

Vaccinating is to help keep your child safe. Having them out of their carseat while a car is in motion is putting them in danger..

How can we even put them in the same category? That was a dumb relation.

I don't see myself ever trying to breastfeed like that. I don't understand it....I really don't.

I have to disagree. I would hold onto my kid for dear life.

I fell down the stairs with my daughter and it happened in a flash, I didn't even feel myself falling. We slid all the way down and she didn't even get a bump. My instincts took over and I took the brunt of the impact and held her tight.

I agree a child is much safer in carseat. If the impact is strong enough both Mom and Baby could be seriously hurt. But I also agree with Rochelle. A dummy is no comparison for a mother.

Ok then why dont people hold themselves in thier seat when they crash? If they arent wearing a seatbelt which I am doubting any mother bf'ing is they will go through the windshield. Same would happen if you had a baby on your lab. Hey maybe both would!
