Blightened ovum

Good afternoon Moms! Well Tuesday we went to our first prenatal appointment. It was our first ultrasound so see our lil" Pookie".So the nurse puts in my l.m.p and I told her my cycles are longer than the 28 days she said don`t worry the ultrasound will give exact due date and all that. So my Dr comes in and she does a exam and feels me She said I think your right you don`t feel that far along. She goes in to do the vaginal ultrasound. She says Are you sure your pregnant did you take a test. I see a sac but there is nothing in it. she keeps looking but nothing, I did a blood test tuesday and the hcg xcame back at 8500. that would ber gtreat if i was only 5-6 weeks.

Then weds night i started to spot brown. I went back thursday and they took my blood again and said that brpwn blood is old. If i start bleeding or passing clots go to the e.r. So I went home and start passing thick whiteish brown stuff and then it turned into a orangish brown. Then last night it was Bright red. I called my dr this morning and she said come in firs thing Tuesday morning and they will do another ultrasound. if they find nothing then they will do a d&c. If i have cramping passing large clots are soaking more than one pad go to the e.r.

Now my husband does not want to have any more kids cause he is scared. So that is were i am. We are both devastated at we had no cue this was coming........

One of my pregnancies resulted in a blighted ovum as well. I'm sorry momma. It's nothing you did. If it's any consolation, there was never an actual developing embryo. I know that probably doesn't help... was TTC hard?

I'm sorry for your loss, but do know its usually an isolated event and the chances of another loss are slim.

I had a blightened ovum and I was able to pass it natrually.

Yep, it wasn't a baby it was just a fluke.

I had a D&C.

  That's what happened with my first too. I'm sorry.

My doc told me 50% of first trimester m/c are from blighted ovum.

What I am aware of is it was a group of cells if anything if it even made it that far. The sac was empty it was all black nothing was in there so I think my body absorbed it. It was not hard as we were not trying. I just hope my husband calms down. So that if we do want more that is a option.

I'm sure the shock will wear off eventually. How are YOU doing?

was it hard tp pass. i have cramps and spotting on and off. Sorry for t.m.i but I have a horrible smell of blood but there is hardly any.

It's possible the pregnancy hormones in your body still that are making your smells heightened. Do mention this to your doctor tho.

to be honest with you i was in maternity clothes already. since i started to spot on wedst stomach has gone down so much. i am back in regular clothes. I am in shock cause this has all happened in less than a week i honestly just wanted it over with.

I passed both my losses natrually, and it took me about 48 hours for the bleeding,cramping aching to end.

ETA: it was harder emotionally then physically for me.

  thats so sad! i feel so bad for every family that has had a miscarriage or still birth, or worse lost a child. its the worst thing hat could ever happen to any1.
