Only certain children shows?
Only certain children shows?
posted 3rd Jul
Do you only let (or will you only let) your child(ren) watch certain children shows?
In example, they can watch Sesame Street, Yo Gabba Gabba, Wow Wow Wubzy. But you won't let them watch Dora or Barney?
If you don't let them watch certain shows, why don't you? Is it because you personally don't like them?

Holden isn't allowed to watch Hannah Montana. Only because me and Luke cannot stand that girl.
I don't think Holden would watch it anyways.

if there is a show I don't like watching, they usually can watch it in their play room (just a room over)

My hubby hates barney, so our son won't watch that, and we both loath Spongebob with a passion so he won't watch that. He doesn't want much tv right now but I'll definitely be very particular about what I let him watch. If there's no value to it (like spongebob) then what's the point in letting them watch it?

We only allow certain shows in our house. No Spongebob Squarepants, Fairly Odd Parents, etc. I think that they have tons of innappropriate content for children. The way they speak and treat each other is appauling. They have a few shows they do watch. They aren't allowed much tv. anyways. They watch:
Max & Ruby
Dora The Explorer
Miss Spider
Curious George
Wow Wow Wubbzy
Franklin
and Oswald

No Barney cuz eww. No iCarly because they always show the kids being obnoxious brats and the blonde one steals and lies, which isnt something I need my kids watching. And ....hmmm....Chowder and the pointless shows that have no real purpose. Sesame Street teaches stuff, so does Dora and Diego. But things like Chowder I think are a waste of time.

I don't let my nieces watch certain things over here and my child won't either. Most Cartoon Network and a lot of Nick shows too. Basically, things with no real purpose. If they have one the tend to pick up, I will let it go (not a big deal) but they won't or don't watch it often so it's not a big deal. Just every now and then.

I only let my son watch Sesame Street because it's the only one that still seems educational at all.
But he's not old enough to ask for other shows and he doesn't watch much TV anyway.

You are not in the least bit worried your kid will start to behave and act/talk like that show? It has some rather vulgar content.
