I let my SO take my son for a hair cut!

I am really picky about my kids and their hair. I won't let the place use clippers until they sit still. I make sure everything looks good. I won't let them fade my younger sons hair, and thats what my SO wants done. But I am so swollen and walking makes it way worse, but my son NEEDED a hair cut so I let my SO take him by himself while I stayed at home with my older son. I am so nervous. Before he left he said "tell momma ima come back with a big boy fade" and I commented back "how much gas you got in the car? fade his hair and you better run" I trust my SO but I also know he thinks I am being over protected. But I don't want the stupid place to cut my sons head or ears or scare him with the sounds of the clippers. I really hope he respects how I feel and doesn't fade his hair. I will cry my eyes out for days if he does.

I guess it's mostly a principal issue and how much he respects you, but I have to warn you - men are childish, I'm certain you know that as well as I do, they tend to regard a lot of things and people as toys, even their kids at times and thus they want a 'cool' looking child, it's silly but hey at the time, it may seem like a good idea to him.

Don't get too upset if he goes through with the hair fading, it's not because he doesn't respect you or your wishes, he's just.. a guy

You are so right. My husbands arguement would be don't you respect what I want.

OP - why don't you just cut his hair yourself? i always cut jonas' hair and it turns out great...dh cuts his own hair as well, but for me personally can't justify paying someone to cut a guys hair.

I don't like those kind of haircuts on littel boys but then again if I were to have a little boy I'm not sure when I'd cut his hair!

It took me forever to trim my daughter's bangs lol I just couldn't pluck up the courage, now I twim hers every month or so, just to keep it out of her eyes

i cut jonas' hair for the first time when he was 11 months old...but nothing drastic, lol it went from this

and just a few weeks ago we officially buzzed it for summer.

omg i cant believe you cut the baby curls off! my son is 15 mos and i havent gotten the courage to do that yet

hahaha yeah i almost cried...but it seemed like it was bugging him, he was always pulling them and itching his ears so we cut em off. they did grow back, he's 15 months and ive cut his hair...5 times i think, lol

my husband wants to cut his hair so bad. so we compromised and cut his bangs since they were in his eyes. thats the best i could do!

My eldest gets his hair buzzed. Has since he was one. I always cut it. I have taken him to the hair salon once to get his hair cut. I see no point taking my son anymore because I can buzz his head myself for free.

As for your hubby, well, just gotta hope he listens, but at the same time I wouldnt make too big of a deal out of it. Its just hair. It will grow back out.
