posted 3rd Jul
After a vaginal delivery does your vagina stay stretched or does it tighten again? And if it does how long does it take?

The vagina is probably one of the most amazing parts of the female body. After a vaginal delivery, it will go back to the same, almost the same, or sometimes even tighter than before pregnancy. It takes a few weeks, for many it ranges but anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 weeks is a good time frame. Just make sure to do kegels and it will help the muscle return to a better state than if you don't ;-)

I didn't do any with my oldest, either, and was ridiculous tight by the time we started having sex again. It was crazy. However, I figured I wouldn't get that lucky the next time around and made sure to do them after my daughter lol

Kegels are the exercises you do with your vaginal muscles that help strengthen them. The better control you have over your vaginal muscles the less chance of incontinence (I think that's the right word) you'll have in your older age, the better sex can be for both you and your partner, and the easier delivery for your children can be.

To do a kegel, the best way to start is by stopping or putting an ease on your flow of urine while going to the bathroom. It gives you a feel for where it's at.

I have excellent control down there...I love it lol

Ain't that the truth!

It's true, everything goes back to normal and sometimes even tighter... at least in my case.  My SO and I recently tried having sex (at 5 weeks postpartum) and I asked if I felt "different" down there.  He said that I definitely felt tighter.  That was a shocker to me!

I read it only takes 1 day for everything to "feel" normal again.

But not like your going to have ANYTHING going that close to your vagina after giving birth hahahha.

ok I am 4 weeks PP as of today, and i just wanna cry because everyone is saying they have tightened up and i still havent. im so embarassed to have sex cause i felt like its just so stretched out down there.

i seriously wanted to cry when me and my boyfriend had sex at 2 weeks PP because he just slid in so easily and i knew it was so stretched out and pre-preg i used to be as tight as a virgin.

plz someone tell me they got tight after 4 weeks?? lol
