Big girl hair cut

posted 2nd Jul
My little girl is 5 and is starting school this year. Until now her hair cuts consisted of a trim and I would keep her bangs out of her eyes. I was thinking that now might be a good time for something a little more with her hair but I'm at a loss of what to do. Her hair is long and stick straight. She absolutely refuses to cut off very much because she insists that she's not a boy and princesses have long hair, LOL. Here's a picture of her from easter. It's one of the few recent one with her hair down, it stays in her face if I don't. I usually keep it up in pigtails or braids. Maybe some layers?? I need opinions!

you could just trim it and let the bangs grow out. so it will all be one length. then you'd have lots of options.

Maybe add some layers through it? Just take a few inches off, and add the layers

I love the cut where it's longer in front in shorter in back, but if she doesn't want that much taken off then that probably wouldn't work.:/

Maybe do it so that it frames her face. shorter layers int he front so that she doesn't lose the length. then it wont stay in her face so bad.

I would cut her bangs a little. Cut about an inch off the length, then long layer it. I think it would be super cute

Maybe go througha kid magazine or even an adult (I dont meanporn lol) magazineand let her pick a few pictures of hair that she likes & then limit her choices down to the ones you like as well as the ones she does?

I've tried letting them grow out but she gets frustrated with it. Last time she got a hold of the scissors and cut them herself leaving a nice bald spot on her forehead. It took 6 months to grow out where it is in that picture, her bangs that is.

She'd flip out if it was shorter then shoulder length.

Thanks! I like it too but it's getting a bit unmanageable. Her hair is super thin like mine and it tangles easily when it's really long like it is now.

That's what I'm thinking but I wasn't sure if it would look good or not. I don't want her to look too grown up *sniff* I want her to still be my baby too.

Thank you! And that's a good idea, I'll keep that in mind when we go.
