I hope that's what happens with me as well

I wasn't the one who implied the Doctors would be giving me a tour nor did I say they were the only ones who assisted with deliveries.

I honestly don't care who gives the tour. The janitor could I just wanna see the place.

True, but he was really trying to talk me out of going to the smaller one and kept saying he didn't wanna go there because he likes the bigger one.

I guess if he feels it's so much better then perhaps it is. I'd still like a look around to see for myself.

yeah I loved one of my nurses sooo much. she was just talkative (not annoying) and we bsed while she was in there and was just fun.. the nurse in there when they actually had me start pushing was funny too.. lol. I kept telling her that she was coming, i felt like I was prairie doggin and she was like "DONT PUSH" and told my husband "if you see a head run outside and scream.. someone will come" it was funnier when she said it though. other than my medical difficulties with my BP I had a really good experience

What does it matter? I promise as your vagina is being torn in two and you push out your baby, the appearance of your labor suite will not be #1 on your mind. Nurses have jobs..its called taking care of pregnant patients. Seeing your hospital benefits nothing.

I said on the previous page I DON'T care about the luxury suite. I care about seeing the WHOLE place, asking questions and getting information.

Seeing the hospital does matter to some people even if it doesn't to you. I wouldn't live in an apartment or even hotel without seeing one first, asking questions and getting reviews and I wouldn't trust a hospital to deliver me and handle my child without seeing it and talking to them first. There have been some people who saw a hospital, interviewed staff and were so completely unimpressed that they switched doctors just so they wouldn't have to deliver there.

I am one of those and if that makes me a ridiculously stuck up mom then so be it. I like it

Still funny to me. I assure you, it will be the LEAST of your worries.

exactly...

I had a university hospital, so I had a team of 3 docs that were assigned to me based on my due date and when they'd be in the hospital as opposed to the clinic. Well Darwin said screw that shit and broke water 2 months early. So I had a team of 2 doctors I'd never in my life seen before for the 2 weeks they made me wait until delivery. Even then, the "mentor" for the residents was not the same on delivery day. AND on top of that, one guy had to leave half way thru so yet another mentor showed up...our introduction was with my legs spread! LOL and he delivered the afterbirth

Yep! During my csection, I had a team of trainees in the room with my second daughter haha. I didn't care. They told me they were from the University and would be watching, I just wanted the baby out. They were taking notes and the doctor was telling them what he was doing haha. Regardless of what hospital tour you take, and interview nurses etc. you still can't guarantee the delivery you imagine. Why try and plan something that is so easy to get thrown off track ya know?

I'm bossy and always get my way ;) If you didn't care what was going on during your birth, again it does not mean I won't. No matter how funny it is to you. I simply said I wanted to tour, not a plan. But even if I do have a birth plan I won't be the first woman with one and I surely won't be the last. If you like chaos then good for you.

......................

I did go up to the hospital unannounced today and asked for a tour. Surprise surprise they had the time and the rooms   It ended up being a pretty decent place, set up a lot like the smaller one. I think I will like it!

Glad to hear you got your tour.   DH's grandma keeps telling me to just pop in and get my tour. But, I'm not interested. I know where the hospital is and I did the virtual tour online. I'm sure it'll be fine. But, it's nice that you got what you needed to feel comfortable.
