who has or has had braces?

i went to see the orthodontic today and he said he could help me but it will take 18months for completion. i said is ok i just want to fix my teeths n close my front gap. im missing top 2nd teeth i have 3rd teeth in place of 2nd he said hes going to move that 3rd teeth from 2nd spot am put it back to its 3rd place and then on the 15mth of me having braces hes sending me to get an implant to get my 2nd teeth put in on the 2nd spot. that means im going to be looking toothless in the front top part?/ lol or willbraces cover that empty spot till i get implant? please help

hmm i the wire will go over the spot....and it will take some time to move the tooth to the 3rd spot where it should be....but yeah....you'll probably be able to tell its missing =\

I had braces for 19 months...   It sucked, but results were great.. It helped my overbite.. But since my wisdom teeth came in, they shifted back some  

you will look gappy for a while yes.. i hd braces for only 8 months to close a smaller sounding sized gap in my front teeth. plus i only had them on the top where the gap was hopefully it desnt look to bad... you would think he would put the implant in first so all your teeth fall into place properly but hey he is the profesional right?? lol

The wire from the braces will go over the empty spot. It will just look like you have a big gap though.

It may just look like a gap for awhile then towards the end, they would have made plenty of space for it, you'll most likely look like you're missing a tooth. Lol.

I don't know about the gap ... I had a gap for about 10 months, but that was because an impacted tooth was being pulled down.

You will look gappy. I have braces and will be getting them off next month or so. He can't put the implants in first because he needs to move your other teeth, back to the orginal spaces. But I'm surprised he won't be doing it sooner than 15 months.

I had braces for 6 years.   

I had braces for four years, they said i would only have them on for 1. I also had the the buck teeth thing going on and one of my teeth on top was inplace of another one that hadnt grown in yet. it was a space but no one ever noticed it. it was like my 3rd tooth on the left. Its not that noticable. Good luck hopefully you wont have them as long as i did!!! and remember when you get them off to wear your retainer. I didnt and now my teeth are getting all sorts of messed up from my wisdom teeth coming in....

yea but he cant put implnt first because im missing tooth number2 on top i hve number 3 in pl of 2 so he wnts to move that tooth to its place and then put an implant where it goes

yeah i kinda just thort bout that lol... sorry.

I know nothing about braces but that sounds really really painful.
