i am 17 years old and i gave birth when i was sixteen. I exclusively breastfeed.. is that weird to be so young and BF? Do any of you teen mommies breastfeed? If so, how old are you?

I'm not a mom, but I don't think it's weird.. BFing is a natural process.. It's your choice.

i think no matter what age breastfeeding is the best, and NO its not weird.

Yeah it'll definitley be hard to BF while at school.. i stopped going.
But they sayyou have to breastfeed or atleast pump every 3 hours. But sometimes i'll go like 6 or 7 hours without doing so (if im at work) and it seems to be fine..

Ive been BF exclusively for 4 months now and all my other friends who have babies think im crazy... alot of my family think i should stop now too

your milk comes in for a reason.
that's like saying it's weird to be pregnant and a teen, you know? your body does it for a reason. it's actually weirder to be pregnant than it is to breastfeed once you're in that "weird" situation.
maybe EVERYTHING is weird b/c you're a teen... but i don't see how breastfeeding is weird-- EVER...
*ponders*
unless-- unless you're in an ANR (adult nursing relationship)... THAT's weird.

you're doing the right thing.
your family is obviously not educated on the benefits of breastfeeding.
so long as you're healthy and not doing drugs, breastfeeding is the best food you could give your child.
