its just your doctor pressing his own opinions on you. ask another doctor if he wont do the IUD...

i was on depo from 16-23 and it took 2 years to get a period after and i just got preggo last year for the first time (3 1/2yrs after)...so just expect that when you get off it you might not be fertile for a while. otherwise it was good, I didnt gain weight, have PMS, periods...

well I dont want another kid for a long time. we barely have enough money for one kid. so we want to wait till Chloie is 3-5 years old potty trained and we have enough money. so that will be good for me. im scared that i might gain a lot of weight or bleed a lot,etc.. my hubby will be happy with no PMS, and if i dont have a period or just have a couple or very little bleeding ill be happy.

I had some bleeding for a few days with the IUD (I tried to get it a few years back and it wouldnt take...my uterus isnt shaped right I guess) so expect that if you do get it. As far as the depo shot, past like month 2 I never bled, not even spotting, for the few years I was on it and the 2 after. No cramping, nothing. My mother was the same. I didnt gain any weight either. Ive heard it can make you gain but I never saw a pound till after I got off it...its different with everyone though.

i hope the depo does what i want it to and minamize bleeding, bcuz when i do get my beriod it was always heavy and i hated it. so i want a either no bleeding or a small amount. and i hope i dont gain weight. i am trying to loose my baby weight. and its hard.but my sister had it and blead heavy for 3 months, gaid a bunch of weight. but so far my body is WAY different then hers so *fingers crossed*

I actually got on it originally b/c of really bad cramps and bleeding. I was only 16 and I wasnt even sexually active...I just needed something to regulate me and my mom was on depo so I wanted to try it. It was wonderful. I wouldnt get back on it now only cause I was on it so long. They say they only reccomend you be on it for 3yrs max because it can cause osteoporosis (sp?) its rare but can happen if your on it for prolonged times which I was already on it for like 7yrs before they found that out.

well 3 yrs would be good for me bcuz my hubby wants another one when Chloie is 3. i wanna wait till shes 5 but idk i guess ill let it be up to him.lol. but thanks.
