re: How to put a screaming baby to bed?

Quoting someday soon.:“ You may want to look into EC (elimination communication or natural infant hygeine). IMO it is the cause ... [snip!] ... to burp, or needs to go potty, and it's so nice to be able to meet ALL of her needs (it means she NEVER cries inconsolably).”

this is so fascinating- thank you for bringing it up! I am reading into it, how did you start?

The only way my babies cry themselves to sleep at this age is in my arms!

OP...I think it's kind of a crapshoot at this age. It might be gas that is causing discomfort or something like that. My son gets that way (he's 8 weeks) and early on we would just try every position of holding (he loves the football hold) and if he just won't settle down, usually walking out on the porch for some fresh air will do the trick. He eventually just hits his wall and crashes! Good luck...I know it's frustrating!

Try to put your baby down right when they are showing signs they are tired. That is what we do and it works.

You should never let a 5 week old cry it out.

OKAY LEARN TO READ!
I dont let her cry herself to sleep.
she whines for like 2 minutes and then falls asleep.
so shut the fuck up.
I'm not lazy at all.
and have been told from 198129838469 people that I'm a great mother.
so shove it bitch.

edit: also its not like I leave her there by herself.
I never said I let her CIO.
I sit there & sing and talk to her.

when my daughter is really really tired i either walk her facing outward for her to see, or drive her around the house in her stroller or sit with her in the glider rocking back and forth with a sootthie in hermouth listening to music....that one seems to work the best

Don't tell me to stfu. You are saying it's okay to let babies CRY THEMSELVES TO SLEEP. That is not the same as whining , genius.

that happens to my LO to I just put her in her swing & she ends up settling in 5-10 mins.
It's okay to let your baby cry themselves to sleep when they are overtired. IMO
