That one is important.

My daughter had something similar (but less tramatic) to rotovirus when she was a month old. She had to have an IV fluid thing in her arm and stay overnight.

Really? I wonder what caused that severe of a reaction. When his pedi described rotavirus to me I was all for getting him protected against it lol. He hasn't had any bad reactions to shots though. He doesn't even get fussy afterwards and only a very slight fever. He also doesn't cry much when he gets them. But all babies are different.

That sounds like you made a good decision

No, there are vaccine waivers that all states but Mississippi and West Virginia allow. 48 states allow either a philisophical or religious exemption and all allow medical exemptions, children do NOT have to be vaccinated to attend public school.

The MMR is one specifically that Aidan will more than likely NOT recieve IF we decide to start them when he turns two, UNLESS the plans for a new separated MMR are carried out, and then depending on the state of the vaccines we'll go from there.

I couldn't agree more

Nope, New Mexico allows for religious, medical, and personal belief exemptions.

They said she had a stomach flu that caused her to have diarrhea every 2 minutes

They tested her for the rotovirus twice because they swore she had it, but she didn't.

The RV is given in liquid that the child drinks, atleast thats how my son received it.

I chose to vaccinate because the risks are worth it to me to protect him. Even though it doesnt 100% prevent him from contracting anything, it was worth the try for us! He has done beautifully and is 9 months old. He had a fever once when a tooth came in and has never been sick. Knock on wood.

Its everyone's personal choice. Scare tactics dont work well with me. I was worried for a bit because of all the hype, but at the end of the day, I felt it was best.

It caused his pyloric muscle to clamp closed so he couldnt keep anything down and he lost alot of weight. By the time they finally realized I was right that it wasnt just his reflux it was too late. He had to get a pyloromyotomy, several biopsies, his GERD got so bad that he got ulcers in his stomach and throat, and he now has delayed motility on his stomach because it no longer contracts properly. Its so upsetting.

I didn't know that. Because everytime i've gone to school they make sure your vaccines are up to date and if they're not you usually have to go get whatever you're missing.

I have no idea really. They didn't give me an option or a waiver. (I didn't ask either.) They just told me that I had to show proof that he had received the vaccination by a specific date or he would not be allowed to return to school after that date.
