Weight loss Pills..

I have a doctor appointment coming up and I want to talk to him about a perscription diet pill. So my question is Have any of you got RX weight loss and what was it and did it work?

i know there used to be efedrin but im thinking it was pulled due to heart attacks

I was on Adipex which is the brand name for Phentermine. It was awesome stuff. The first month I lost 15 lbs and over all I lost 40 lbs in less than 6 months.

You have to diet though. It's not a miracle pill it just helps with your appetite. I did a 1200 cal diet and slowly added calories back into my diet so I didn't gain it all back when I stopped dieting. The last month I added exercise to boost the weight loss because of course my body was tolerant to the pills, so they no longer worked as effectivly as well as the 1200 cals I was consuming.

They are great the first month but then like I said you get used to them. But by then you are already consuming less calories so your body is used to that intake to where you are in control without the appetite suppressent pills.

what do they cost if you dont mind me asking

If your Dr gives this scrip they will pay close attention to your success. If you are not losing they will take you off of it. This pill has been known to be highly addictive because it can be used and felt as if it was a type of "speed". I am only telling you this to warn you what the stipulations are when taking it.

They will have you come in monthly to monitor your blood pressure, thyroid and track your weight loss. For me, I don't have health insurance. Adipex brand cost roughly $70 and Phentermine cost around $40 (I believe).

I would recommend starting with the "generic" Phentermine because to me, it is weaker than the brand Adipex. So when your body builds a tolerance to Phentermine you can boost it by taking Adipex.

Just try to do good with your dieting and exercise because both pills only last a few months. It is very important to have a healthy diet instead of just not eating because when you stop the pills and return to your normal eating habits you will gain all the weight back. The first week or two you will literately have to make yourself eat something because the pill is that effective at curbing your appetite. IMO this medication helps you establish a lifestyle change in regards to healthy eating and/or good choices.

I also take Phentermine!! I've lost 26 lbs. I started taking them May 28th. I lost 6 lbs prior to taking them though, So i've lost 20 lbs on the pills.

so they are worth the money!
