Quoting sarcasm: well his dad is in the navy (so I don't know why he just doesn't ask him!) and his dad told him that he would be good at being a MAA....(I think its Master At Arms)..what rank is that??
Quoting Aces Mommy: thats military police so enlisted its kind of a low job
Quoting sarcasm: well his dad is in the navy (so I don't know why he just doesn't ask him!) and his dad told him that he would be good at being a MAA....(I think its Master At Arms)..what rank is that??A Master at Arms is pretty much like Military Police. It's not really a rank. It's a job in the Navy. If he is enlisted and not an officer, his rank will be determined by pay grade ie.. an E2 or E3 or E4 for starters.Like seaman or petty officer 3rd class, then petty officer 2nd class etc.
Quoting Aces Mommy: not like trashing on you if it sounded that way
Quoting sarcasm: so he gets the money when he leaves for the training, so it shouldn't matter whether or not if he joined now or later
Quoting sarcasm: no no its okay...and I just want him to get paid good if he's going to pretty much dedicate his life to this....how much do they usually get payed...

Quoting Baking my little muffin!: I'm really confused as to what you are asking, but I know the military isconfusing so i'll try to help ... [snip!] ... his enlistment bonus. He will be enlisted because he is 18 and has not gone to college yet. Officers must have acollege degree.could he still go to school while hes in the navy to become an officer?
Quoting sarcasm: Oh my god this whole military ranking stuff is so confusing!!..I have no clue what any of those are! It's ok. I know it starts out really confusing. I had no idea either when I married my husband but 3 yrs later and now that he is a recruiter, it's getting a little easier. Just have his write down his questions and talk to his recruiter about them.
Quoting Aces Mommy: well tell him to either study up on the asvab and get a really good score or go to school cause alot of inlisted dont make that good of money unless their hella smartYou get paid because of your rank, not your job or your ASVAB score...it doesn't matter if you get a 100% on the ASVAB or if you get a 70%...you will still get paid the same if you are the same rank
Quoting sarcasm: could he still go to school while hes in the navy to become an officer?yes he can...there are programs for that thru the military

Quoting sarcasm: and another question i have is if we get married before he leaves like a week before he leaves. will ... [snip!] ... my baby be able to get his medical..thats my biggest fear is that while hes gone I'm not going to have medical for my childyes your baby will be able to get health insurance, and so will you
