so we did it!!!

My baby girl is off the bottles and back to the breast! We're doing really well! We went to alactation consultantand everything is much better! No more pumpin,no more fits, shes doing just fine I'm so happy! Just wanted to share, thanks to everyone who gave advice

Honestly the lactation consultant helped alot! We fixed my and her positioning and learned some tricks on how to get her to open up wider. It all worked and shes doing do well. So I'd make an appointment if I were you because it helped me so much mamma!

I did that we had to trick her by using a nipple shield, it worked for a lil bit but since she's been off it hurts to have her latch on and I know its not suppose to. So I've been having to pump which is annoying to do all day lol.

They had me put my nipple underneath her nose for her to smell the milk and she opens wide trying to reach and thats when I sorta help her latch on. It works pretty well. Also sitting in a chair with a pillow behind and a foot stool...baby on the boppy...it all helped

If it's not the proper latch, it will hurt, but don't be discouraged. If your baby is sucking and swallowing, she's getting milk. She's eating, so don't worry. Breastfeeding can hurt for the first few weeks until you get used to it. If you continue to pump and don't actually breastfeed, you may get discouraged and give up. Really, it does hurt for awhile, and then one day you get up and discover that it stopped hurting, and you're both okay.

It didn't hurt when we started just now thats shes been off the breast for awhile i'll try for as long as possible but I got back to work on the 21st  so will see how it goes until then, if I can get her back on the breast I can pump and freeze that milk.

I didn't know that they could smell the milk hmmm thats worth a try thanks for the hint.

Oh yeah! Thats part of the reason why they're so close to us because they can smell it on us [at least thats what I was told] its part of the mommy scent!

That's good information! I once saw a video of a newborn and the mom where she just put the baby on her belly and let him find her breast. It was amazing - he found it, too! Babies are smarter that we give them credit for.

Lol I guess thats why whenever I lay her on my chest she goes for the tit lol, I just thought it was from breastfeeding.
