Great! Keep up the good work! I was unable to breastfeed my first child b/c of the same misconceptions about it shouldn't hurt, etc. I lost confidence. But I nursed my second until she was 11 mos., my third until he was almost two, and my fourth until she was 16mos. I hope you two are happy breastfeeding for a very long time!

The more you nurse, the more you make. Don't put her on a schedule, let her breastfeed when she wants. Why not this weekend just you and her spend time alone at home and just let her nurse as much as she wants day and night. Try this for a few days. I think it will help.

Here's another thing. If she's peeing several times daily, and pooping pretty regular, she is probably getting what she needs. You may already have enough milk, but sometimes it doesn't seem like it b/c your breasts won't always feel full, or you may not feel a letdown. But if she's sucking and swallowing, and getting full every few hours, she's getting enough.

Thats good advice but i'm just now getting her back on the breast so I've been pumping, not as much milk has been coming out i'm actually getting like two oz less than I usually get and in the morning I usually get a bottle full  I hope i'm not drying up but i'll give it a go.

From what I've heard, pumping yields less than the actual nursing b/c the baby is more effective getting the milk than a pump. Plus, we don't really know how many oz. baby's getting on the breast. Another thing I learned is to let your baby nurse as long as she wants on one side. Don't limit to 10 or 20 mins per side b/c then she won't get the hindmilk, or the fat, that comes later. Apparently when baby first latches on, the milk is thin. Then, after she finishes that, the fatty milk, which is good for her, lets dpwn, and that satisfies her.
