I gave my son a little once he turned a year old and thankfully he wasn't allergic to it. I don't know the exact age that you should but ask your pedi.

Actually, I just googled it and everything says 3 years. I was told 2.

Same. I think it's 3 years because they can choke on peanuts if you use the crunchy kind.

OP, my daughter didn't have peanut butter until she was almost 2. And it was the smooth kind.

Oh, I dont buy the chunky kind anyway. I am waiting until after 2 at least. Now probably even 3.

I gave him peanut butter at 1 year cause thats what My Doctor had told me. If you are scared of choking get the Creamy PB! lol

I made sure to rub a little bit on her lips. To see if she had any kind of reaction. I'd rather her have a small reaction from it being on her lips and licking it a little, than have a huge reaction from eating a whole sandwich when she's allergic.

Well Im asking causeI had a pb&j sandwich and gave her a bite (she is almost 10 months) and realized after that its peanut butter! so now I'm a little nervous.

Yeah definitely. My dad made an interesting comment the other day.

Why do they use peanut oil in SO many medications when peanuts are a MAJOR allergy...because people with peanut allergies cant use those meds, but what if they dont know they are allergic and then they get a med with peanut oil?

Just keep an eye on her, normally hives or a skin breakout will occur,also, shortning of breath.

I definitely wouldnt do it again.
