Quoting sταrry skies:" You seem to like short names that end in E. Have you looked at similar names?"

We actually found out that our girl turned into a boy on us...His name is going to be Jasper Timothy Alan. We found boys names that we both liked much more easily than we were finding names for girls!

And if she had been a girl, she would have been Alani Sophia...

Im due February 27 and don't have a name picked out for my lil boy yet...I thought I did but im starting to not like it so much. It was Kellin as a first and nothing as middle yet...im afraid it zounds too feminine maybe. I have a book of names but I don't want to read it page by page! I need to get on it and have at least a few ideas to go off so if he happens to come early I at least have some idea!

i agree with you as my sister says "all names were made up by ppl at one point and was unique tho through the yrs became popular somehow." my name is amberdawn nichole and ppl tried calling me amber it was frustrating at times so i went by nichole all my life til now, difference is i am thankful for my mother giving me a name no one else has it makes me unique a true individual and im proud of it and true even if your name isnt weird kids will find something else to make fun of, there will always be bullies.

I like this forum. Last night my husband and I settled on the name Isabelle Rylie Brown and I started a forum asking what others thought of it being like I just put it or Rylie Isabelle Brown and I had ALL negative comments saying spell it this way not that way and Rylie is a horrible name so don't use it for a girl. But it hurt my feelings because my husband and I have been talking about the name Rylie from day 1.

My 9 year old is Mason Patrick Tyler, He has 2 middle names because his father and I couldnt agree on 1. This one if its a boy will be Grayson Skyler Cole. My husband always called Mason Batman. Whats up Batman? How you doing today,Batman? Thought it was funny. He got Grayson from Dick Grayson i.e. Robin from Batman and Robin. When we named Mason our next son was Going to be Marshall but since my husband calls him Batman we went that way. My girl is Mahaley Lynn Jordyn. Lynn is my familys middle name and I think Lynn Jordyn goes smoothly together. As for Mahaley my husband also came up with that and it stuck but I have yet to have a girl and I believe Im having another boy due to no girls born on my husbands side of the family since 1876. And Mason looks just like his father with a few of my good features, mostly my eye color. My sister doesnt like the name Grayson but idc because its my son and I think its perfect for Masons i.e Batmans little brother. All that matters is that u like it. Kids will be kids and at some point or another everyone has been made fun of wether its about your looks or your name. I had the most boring common name. Michelle Martin. people called me mnm. didnt bother me i like mnms. lol I am married now and thats not my last name anymore but still. I have always been a big girl too. When I was in high school I lost like 40 pounds but have always had big boobs and I never wore revealing things so it looked like i was still big but I weighed like 130. Point is do what u want, what makes u happy. Its your baby. Congrats to all the mommies!!

I disagree. My name is Skylar and I'm a girl and clearly I look like a girl and talk like a girl. In 6th grade most girls dont have boobs, I was one that didn't and everyone still knew I was a girl!!! And why would people want their children's names spelled the same way as 3 million other people in the world? Being unique is great, and I'm glad my name is Skylar. Yes it is a boys name too and usually spelled skyler but my name is unique and I love it everyone tells me how pretty my name is and the spelling too. I have a son named Ryan and a daughter on the way and her name is going to be Airynn. The spelling is different but it's pretty and girly and Erin is just plain and boring.

Forgive me for throwing my two cents out there, but I believe that parents can name their kid WHATEVER they want. If the name is reasonable, of course. Nothing like "Adolf Hitler" or "doighsdkfjsjkghturej" (Literally, google it. There's a couple that named their kids a bunch of letters.)

I think it's important for the parents to teach their child to embrace their name. Just because you're flat or if you're muscular/athletic, it does not give ANYONE the right to make fun of you.

I agree. Definitely don't let people change your mind about the name you love, they don't have to live with it. That is what pisses me off, when people get so offended when you tell them what your naming your child and say something super inappropriate like "why the hell would you name your kid that? That is a horrible name!" It's not like they have to use it too. And its OK to be unique, arent we all unique anyways? And when certain names started were they popular right off the bat, or did time make them that way? Not saying I like all names but who does?
