posted 23rd Jul '12
i have so many names i wanted for a boy... for a girl i was goin to name her Emilee Paige. Lee after my cousin thats always there for me. and Paige was mt best friend who past away 4 yrs ago..

But i found out 2 months ago im havin a baby boy.. So we went with Christian King. Christian from my mom. her name is Christie and spent her life doin everythin in the world for her kids and grandkids. so i thought it would be nice to have one named after her. King is my boyfriend and his late grandpaws middle name. he wanted to have a name after them. So Christian King Laird it is... i like it...  )

and i think Rylei is a great name.. i have alot of cousin wit that name but i love how thats spelled... they all spelled it Rylee... so urs is unique

Remember that your child needs to get a job someday, and some employers do throw out applications in the trash based on names. Sad, but true....

my sons name aint nmed rylee.. its christian... i was actually makin that comment towards someone else askin bout that name.. and as for what other ppl think; bein employers, teachers, or anythin else al i have t say is screw em... they didnt carry my child. they aint givin birth to my child. they didnt experience anythin i have or will experience.. so therefor they dont have a ship in this race... when they have a baby im sure they gonna ick the name not some random person in the world...

enlightening to hear a guys perspective....I like Wulfe. But I'm still going for a very traditional name if we have a girl- 'Polly', and modern but common 'Bear' for a boy. for no other reason than my partner and I just like those names. Personally, I love having an unusual name, people are always commenting on it being pretty, and it's never been the focus of any taunts.

My husband and I have been TTC for a year or so...and we very easily decided on a girl's name months ago. Lily Evelyn. But when we started talking boy's names, my husband tells me that he'll be named John. No questions. We are friends with a family that has three generations of Johns. I also know about 15 other Johns...I don't want that name and I can't think of a way to convince him that we shouldn't name our baby something so common, especially in our little circle. His grandfathers name was John, so that's where he's coming from, but I still don't like it. Can anyone tell me a way to convince him of something else? Right now, I'm just praying that this baby's a girl so we don't have to deal with the boys names...

What about an ethnic form of John? Ian, Ivan, Evan, Sean, Johan, Johannes.

I personally think this is all a load of bull spit. I have a boy's name and I never got picked on for it. The name should be something that fits your child and something they might like. When you see your child for the first time, the name will just come to you. There's no use in choosing a name beforehand when most parents change their baby's name when he or she is born.
