the funny thing is that your"unisex" names are not all unisex names!!!!! you want to test out the name ask some 7-11 year olds that you know or maybe live down the street. They will know how to come up with nicknames!!!!! remember anything bad you can think of for a name kids and multiply it by a thousand! Yet on another note not everyone even goes by there birth name! Some go by there middle name or something different..... Just saying BE CAREFUL unique is NOT always good easier to come up with something, but POPULAR names can be worst if there is another kid in there class with the same name someone is getting a nick name!!!!

I'm sorry but if you bring your kid up to have a good self esteem the jokes wont matter. the kids that get made fun of are not the ones with the different names its the ones who don't feel comfortable in their own skin. There are obviously some exceptions if you name a boy sue for example. But my uncle's name was jody often thought of as a girls name and he was one of the most popular kids in school. being your kids up right and be there for them and I dought their name will matter as much as u think

I want to know what everyone thinks of the name that i picked out for my daughter.

Casey Lynn.

Im trying to use a name that goes good with sherwood but am having some difficulty.I was just so used to my old easy last name that went with everything(Lindsey)but now it seems so hard to come up with names that go well with my husbands last name.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ha.. I like the name I have picked out better with your last name "Misha".
My name is house so it always sounds like a dead end to a name.
I love Misha Elizabeth House....
But I'm still not to sure about Elizabeth for the middle name.
Any suggestions?

Please do not name your child a common name and then put a strange or foreign pronunciation to it! (Especially in the south, where people, my people so I can say this, tend to be stuck in there ways) eg. My name is Brianne, now most people call me by how it is spelled, Bre-Anne or Bri-Anne, or they are a letter that is NOT there, Bre-Anna! My name is pronounced Bre-on, it is french, I hate it!

Another thing I go by my middle name, from birth, how freaking stupid is that, every year I spent the first six weeks of school being called* shudders* Scottlyn, can you imagine the nicknames? the fake Scottish accents? the taunts: Scotty Scotty, queer and haughty. Blegh! Now I hate the name, and I resent my dead uncle scott for his stupid name. But it was almost worse, it was almost Scottlawn! My mother almost named be after all three of my uncles!

then your in a different world. names are much more than names. people live up to there names. think of the effect that if he had the name Ryan or something to that effect a strong name. and you should ask your uncle if he had a nick name. and what town and time frame he was from cause. you walk into an interview and your name says a lot i know for a fact that when it comes to interviews unless you have other things your name yes maybe minuscule in the job factor but you may not even get a call back if you have a bad name. yes if you live in a lower class town or what have you your child may shoot to the top just casue of the standards in that town. not knowing where your from im gonna say anything but names mean Way more than you think! same as your clothes you wear and the hair style you choose and the company you keep your name also says a lot about you!!!

once again I disagree anyone can over come any obsticle I know this is probably a little cliche by now but look at OUR president not even talking about the fact he's from a sigle parent home, black or that he admited to doing drugs...his name is Barack then to top it off Hussein and the last name Obama if that doesn't prove your theory wrong then nothing can. If your in a big enough town or maybe a close enough town self esteem and good upbringing means a lot more then a name.

laughs* i can't fight with someone over names when there name is Tiffany, all i can say is good luck if you think that obstical's make you a better person and frankly the president said he smoked POT! 90% of america no the world has... and who do you think voted for him? people in his situation! single parent, poor, black ect... face it that is all of america and if you want to say that your proud that your part of a society where a GOOD home and a STABLE one is not important..... good luck!

Oh. My. God.

Are you all retarded?

Yeah, don't judge a book by it's cover, stereotyping is bad, racism, blah blah blah.

But really? You want to tell me that you don't find someone who names their kid Shanaynay or Lafonda ignorant? There's a different between ethnic names and ghetto names. I don't expect African Americans to start naming their babies Mary or John but as time goes on, their naming choices are getting more and more rediculous. There is a line. I'm not racist in any way, but I'm completely opposed to stereotypes and people who WANT to fit into their stereotypes. If your pants are two sizes too small or hanging at your knees, you're talking in completeslang to the point where it's hard to follow your conversation, oryou're naming yourdaughter Shaquanda, you're trying to fit into the ghetto black stereotype.

I'm sorry, but these parents get no sympathy from me. And I think all of you opposed to "SPECS06" are being ignorant and closed minded. You're all so worried about being politically correct that our country's starting to crumble.

When did culture and class deteriorate in the US?
