Weird bug bite

I brought my son out to play yesterday and he got this bug bite. I didn't really pay attention to it at first because it looked like a regular mosquito bite, but he didn't scratch it. This morning it still looked the same but by night time it looked like this. Can u help I don't know what it is and I'm worried. I'm going to take him to the clinic tomorrow, but I'd like to get an idea of what it is first. Thanks for all the help!" />

The same thing happened to me. I got "bit" about 4 wks ago and thought it was from a mosquito. It turned out it was an abscess. I hope your little boy doesn't have one b/c they're not fun!! I doubt he does, but mine looked a lot like that one, and had a dot/bump in the middle.

Yea I googled some bug bite pics and the one that looked closest to it said it was a tick bite... but we weren't in the woods or anything. So idk how a tick would be able to get on him....

Do you know if it hurts him?

He didn't complain about it.. and he is very verbal when something hurts.. he makes sure everyone knows he has an owie. I checked it and there is a tiny bump in the middle. You cant really notice it by looking at it. but if u touch it you'll feel it

My bro's mosquito bites got like that when he was little because he is allergic. Have you tried benedryl?

I don't think it's a mosquito bite, cause he had them before and they looked normal. No I didn't give him Benedryl because I ran out and kept forgetting to get some more   (I blame my pregnancy brain) ... I feel so bad now

Does it feel hard? Mine felt like a very solid bruise.

No i'ts not hard. It just feels puffy and swollen

OP I dont know if you answered this - but does it hurt when you touch it? is it hot?

I would get some benedryl or cortizone cream and call my doc and see if they want me to come in.
