I am very late for this thread but after reading this whole thing and trying to put myself in the OP's position all I can sit here and think is how LIVID i would be at my friend. There is absolutely NO excuse for what your friend did. I am sorry for the loss of the baby but in the end it is probably a good thing because apparently your friend did not have the ability or the right to raise a child. I do feel like the state should do something for her lack of responsiblity to that child, however they probably will not because the law does not see it as a human being until they are born. I am sorry that you went above and beyone to help the your friend OP. you seem to have more pain right now then the actual mother. If it was me in the situation I would be demanding proof of the baby, proof of the u/s because way TOO much of this sounds like a complete and total lie!!!!! Regardless if the cord was wrapped around the baby's kneck her body would have told her something was wrong. To be that over due she not only killed her child she could have killed herself. She would be having some serious pain and problems right now because it should have caused some problems with her!

I know I'm super late too, but i totally agree with you! I would be demanding to see some proof too, i just wouldn't believe someone telling me all this crap and never going to the doctor. I just dont know, its sad for the loss of the baby but the mom is at fault and i hope she goes to jail or something becuase of it, that should be child endangerment.

Ok, I'm also late. This story just doesn't add up. The "mother" was not going to her prenatal appts, yet the doctors said the cord was around the baby's neck for a few weeks? Hmmm.
She also went to the ER but left the OP and took a bus home?
OP- how well do you know this person?
If there truly was a baby (which I hope there wasn't) I am truly sorry for the loss, not sorry for the "mother" though. Neglecting your baby before she is even born? sad.

If she supposedly lost a LO, than wouldn't there be funeral plans or something??? Have you heard anything about a burial or anything like that?? have you seen pictures? And yes, it is possible to fake a pregnancy with prosthetics- you can get bigger and bigger with them0- some fill with water, so you can REALLY look/feel convincing. Did you ever SEE her baby belly?? And from her messages, she doesnt sound too upset over it, If I lost my daughter i would have been much more emotional in what I wrote. Although, if she really did lose the child, and lost it due to being selfish by not getting any care, i would quit talking to her right away.

Not necessarily. I didn't have a funeral because I could not afford it. Not to mention, after having a still born, I've realized how uneducated people really are on the situation and how uneducated I was myself on it. (not that I think its wrong not to be, most people just don't think of it) Hospitals and doctors really don't tell you what to expect so you can plan for after the baby is born either.
The girl seems pretty young and if she really was pregnant, it seems like she didn't care too get the proper prenatal care for whatever reason. Thats if she was really pregnant...... who knows. If it was true, may that baby RIP!
I just don't understand what she did with the stuff you bought her if she wasnt pregnant..........

I cant understand why they dont just GIVE funerals to stillborns, they should- free of cost...Out of respect to the families and the child...Funerals are just a money making scam to add to the emotion distress the family is ALREADY feeling from their loss....It makes me sick.

The hospital offered her body to be donated for science and cremated but we couldn't keep the ashes. And it was free. It was a really really hard decision. It breaks my heart everyday when I think about how I don't have her ashes or a grave to go visit her at. So that's why I am EXTREMELY attached to her keepsake box I guess.
And yeah, I just wish I was warned ahead of time about everything you have to go through after you have the baby. Because a week after I was out, a friend found a thing through the state that offered money to help with funeral arrangements. So I was pretty pissed!!

The information is not readily available in anything anymore, if you want to know about something, you have to ask yourself when people should TELL you in the first place...its sad

I know right. I loved my doctors throughout the whole ordeal but I really didn't like the fact that I was sooo clueless. I mean I only knew most of the stuff because of posting here a few days prior. I've never known anyone who had a still born. It was just completely new to me.
And I guess I didn't get to keep the ashes because it was free and through the state. I asked if they offer things where I pay to have her ashes back and she said there wasn't any. The only way I'd get to keep her ashes and/or her body was if I handled it on my own. They really should do something to help families out in that situation. I mean our cat died a week later and we had the option of paying 30 bucks to keep his ashes. My cat weighed more then my baby! I wish I had an option like that!

She had no pain or anything. And yes she was over due as well.....so maybe you should get your facts straight before you post something like that
