Baby gets what baby wants!

posted 30th Jun
So in my house that is a rule. I've done it with all my kids. If one of my older kids have something my baby girl wants they have to give it to her, unless its something dangerous. If my 5 year old son sees his older brother not giving Gracelyn what she wants he gets pissed and will continuously repeat "baby gets what baby wants" lol its soo cute how he defends his baby sister to no end.

I think that's an awful standpoint to take honestly. But that's just me. Your older kids shouldn't have to give up their toys or whatever else because the baby wants them for a few seconds and then moves onto another toy.

my mum did that and now she regrets it big time, since my sister has been used to it her whole life. Plus it also caused a lot of resentment between siblings

My mom did that with my brother and I and I'm doing it with Logan but only to a certain extent. I understand where you're coming from. You think it's your job to make Baby happy and you have no problem doing what it takes. I'm the same way.

TO me it would be like saying to the other kids that they're not as important cuz they have to give up their toys.

Well they've all had their turn being the baby and getting whatever they want. The fact that she plays with whatever they gave her for a few minutes and then they get it back doesn't hurt them. They are all old enough to understand, its not like they are babies and being mistreated.

its true, i have major issues about being second rate in everything, becuase it was ingrained into me that my sister was more important and my mum just wanted peace (i never got told that my sister was more important but thats how i felt)
