Yeah, my older kids are 10,8,5 they are old enough to hand over a toy if their baby sister is crying for it.

yeh but when your the oldest and no1 had to give you anything if you screamed then its not really the same. I f i wanted something and i screamed i got hit, but that was coz my dad was around, my mum and dad split up when my sister was young so my sister never got hit and always got whatever she wanted. Like i said my mum regrets it now, and nothing to do with me or my feelings coz i never told her.

true, theres nothing more upsetting than feeling second best, but this could be different if theres more than just 2 kids, i duno maybe its different if theres more??

Oh I don't demand them to do it either, its not like they get punished if they don't do it. That would be going to far! Usually they just hand it over on their own, but if not my 5 year old will hound them till they do.

No that's not true at all. They understand that she is a baby and when she's crying for a toy she obviously wants it. Its not like everytime they pick something up they have to hand it over, Gracelyn has lots of her own toys and a lot of times its when they have something of hers is when she cries for it.

I'm sorry you got hit, that's sad. I would never hit my kids, yes there dad spanks them if absolutely necessary but they are most certainly not abused in anyway.

Oh and of course I wasn't including my 14 month old in the getting a spanking.

i dont mean i got abused or anything, well i dont think i did, i screamed i gt hit it was as simple as that. It hasnt done me too much damage

Oh I see! Lol I didn't realize this was such a touchy subject, but I can understand other peoples point of veiw. If I thought it was damaging my kids self esteem I wouldn't do it, but they all get plenty of attention and their own special treatment.

I have to say I really don't agree with that tactic. It doesn't teach sharing at all to the younger one. I do that on SOME level with the kids, but not to that extent and only if I know the older child is only withholding to be an ass to the younger one. Otherwise, I encourage them to wait their turn.

Patience is a virtue, and sometimes has to be instilled in our children by us, the parents.

I know you're probably right, but honestly her little cry melts my heart and she has her daddy and I wrapped around her finger. Lol. Most families have "the baby" that gets away with everything.

She knows how to share to an extent. Her cousin is 7 wks younger than her and he certainly doesn't and isn't expected to hand over toys and they play together pretty good.

Just because msot families have the baby that gets their way doesn't mean it's right. It's cute now, but when they get older, it's not cute anymore. They really need to be taught they can't get whatever they want by acting that way.

I know, sure as shit, it's not cute when my 18 year old sister acts that way.
