re: Make your baby name poll!

I am having a girl! Her first name will be Madelynne. I am having trouble with middle names. I want her to have 2 middle names because that is something that all my siblings and their kids share and I love it. But the man doesn't like the idea but has said that if I find something that he likes that he would consider it.

I started with Madelynne Elizabeth Grace (Barber as last name) but his mother told him some story about his cousin's baby named Elizabeth Grace that died a few days after birth so now both Elizabeth and Grace are out of the question (he isn't that superstitious but said he wasn't going to take any chances and didn't want to bring up bad memories with his family.)

He likes Madelynne Paige (My name is Abagale Noelle Paige). Which I like too but am still wanting to try to find the perfect pair of middle names.

Any ideas?

For starters, I hate the way you spelled Madeline / Madeleine. It's awful. Now for suggestions:

Madeline Nora Willow Barber
Madeline Olivia Claire Barber
Madeline Aurora Jane Barber
Madeline Alice Claire Barber
Madeline Isis Claire Barber
Madeline Genevieve Barber
Madeline Willow Paige Barber


It's hard to get two middle names to flow together with a first and last name.

I LOVE Isaac spelled Isaac.

Isaac Taylor is very nice. Lexis Quincey...yikes. How about Alexandria Quinn, Alexis Quinn or Alexandra Quinn?

Lexis is bad. Might as well just spell it Lexus. And Issac? Ugh.

well, her name is going to be pronounced Ma-duh-LIN. Not Ma-duh-LINE which is the way it would be pronounced with your spelling.

and it is my grandmother that passed away the day I found out I was having a girl (so 4 weeks ago).

Madeline can be and is pronounced mad-uh-lyn.

When I see it, I think MadeLINE. and I have grown up hearing people mispronounce my neighbor's name because she spelled it Madeline.

Bottom line: My grandmother spelled it Madelynne and my daughter is named after her. I just asked for middle names. Not to have my recently deceased grandmother get made fun of for her unique spelling of her name.

I did not ask for opinions on the first name. I asked for opinions/help on middle names. I presented her first name in the form of a statement. Not a question.

Are you unaware that Carter and Cartier are the same name, just in different languages? Not to mention how similar they sound.

I like the C3. That is adorable. Finding a name for your baby is tough especially when everybody's a critic. But, if you are in love with the name, don't let anyone else talk you out of it. This is your precious baby.

Madeline is pronounced Mad-uh-Lynn OR Mad-uh-line.
