Cloth diapering mamas... HELP!!!

what is the differents betweenwicking an leaking..? I am stripping today... my BG are wet at the leg bands... and they have developed and oder... I had to use some ointment on my LO and didn't use a liner... I just learned I have that option when needed... I really like these diapers but I am looking for a new brand as an alternative, please tell me your fav's or link me... thanks so much mamas!!!

I'm not great at the laundry part so I can't help you there. But BG are my absolute favorite and then Bumkins.

wicking is basically leaking. it is the leaks that come out through the legs. As opposed to the PUL being damaged.

My favorite pocket are BG. My fave fitted are thirsties and the ones I make. My fave covers are thirsties and blueberry. I like prefolds and flats and pockets best.

my daughter likes to pull open the velcro cloesers on her BG's so I would like to find a good cloth snap diaper... are the Bumkins..?

bumkins have velcro. There are some blueberrys with snaps but they are on the pricey side and I don't really like snaps. I have a wiggler so we don't have time for snaps

where do you buy from..? I've seen the thirsties on Cotton Babies, but I've not heard of Blueberry...

cloth diapering is such a different language!!!! I want to learn it before we have the next child because I'm quite interested in saving money!

I haven't been doing it long and we still use disposables too but I can tell the difference in the money we've spent already.

wicking usually comes in to play when you are using a fleece cover. fleece is simply not absorbant to water, so it passes right through if there's fabric on the other side of it. (this is why many people use fleece liners to keep their babies dry). when clothing gets wet from a fleece cover (which will repel the water if there's nothing to absorb it behind it) that is what i've always heard referred to as wicking.
although i sew my own dipes and use fleece covers and when i simply use 2 layers of flece i've avoided any issues with wicking.

leaking is just what it sounds like. the cover not holding the fluid in for whatever reason (elastic gone bad, not the right type of thread used with pul) or from simply a way overfull diaper that wasn't absorbant enough.
