Now imagine being here LEGALLY and making decent money but seeing a couple hundred out of your paycheck that you worked EXTRA extra hard on, spent a while getting an education to MAKE that much, yet more money taken out and a good portion being spent on people here illegally. (Yes, there are a LOt of illegals on government help.)

So from what I gathered by reading this thread is that your BD is illegal but pays taxes, has had a visa. So it shouldnt be that hard for him to apply for a green card and then his citizenship card. You should speak to a lawyer and your BD should try to get his GC on his own first. If he's unable to then he will have to go back to Mexico on his own instead of being deported. He doesnt necessarily have to go back to his hometown. He can go somewhere else in Mexico and reapply for his papers there. From Mexico he can apply for Refugee status or he can explain his family situation to the Embassy there. I'm not saying its easy but it definitely is not impossible. I dont know you or your BD but having a baby changes everything and a lot of the time men dont always change for the better, so Id hold off on marriage. But Im pretty sure the government will take into consideration his hard work and the taxes he has paid. But in respect for the country he is in he should try to respect the laws and firgure out a way to do right by it and by you.
